What are you currently listening to?

Just searched for Pukkelpop, what time of year is it? The 2010 line up is ridiculous. If its that good every year, I'm game.

It's the same weekend as V. About the 20th of August kind of time. It starts on the Wednesday night for the dance tents, then the bands start at Midday on the Thursday until Saturday night. It's seriously good. Caters all sorts of genre's. You get most of the bands from V there on the Thursday or Friday, but not the Pop acts. SWEET. I've seen Arcade Fire, Killers, Flaming Lips, Daft Punk, Jazzy Jeff, Go Team, We Are Scientists, Arctic Monkeys, Bloc Party blah blah, it's no small festival

I think it was 100 Euros for 3 or 4 nights if you included the Wednesday. The beers are ace, as its Hoegaarden type beer, or usual lager type beer and a strawberry beer. There's also hot showers and clean loo's which helps massively if you want to sit down and wipe. It's always been sunny for me too, but they had a crazy storm last year

Sounds top drawer. I'm going to Belgium in June with the missus, so twice in one year could be on the cards. I'm going to go with popular vote though, which is likely to be Leeds.

Cool, it's in a place called Hasselt, which is a real nice town too. If you're anyway nearby, I'd have a visit

I had to do exactly the same thing in 2009 when Radiohead headlined, and Rise Against played two sets. Devastated doesn't begin to cover it.

I feel your pain mate. I watched the Libertines on TV live and felt so overwhelmingly jealous!

Gutted

I had to miss seeing the Strokes in Manchester in about 2005. I was going on Holiday the day after and it just didnt work out. Still never seen them, doubt I'll get the chance again

If anyone fancies a Euro Festival, I would recommend Pukkelpop, but this happened the only year I havent attened in the past 5 years. The line ups are usually pretty ace and it's pretty cheap

And talking of the Libertines, Babyshambles were meant to play in 2006. Beck gave Doherty some ****, mocks him a bit in this video too. Beck was awesome. Bablyshambles didn't turn up

It's heartbreaking isn't it. I'd kill to see The Strokes now! The Libertines are without a doubt in my top 5 bands and I thought I would never get to see them live until rumours started to surface about them doing Leeds/Reading. I was so so excited and I got tickets as soon as they came on sale but I had little work in the weeks coming up to it, then work reappeared the weeks either side of the festival so I had to do it or lose out on something like £600 which i desperately needed.

Ha, it's not exactly a rare occurrence for Doherty to miss a gig but of the two times I've seen Babyshambles live they've turned up. Late though of course!

That Pukkelpop looks ace. I'd love to go to a festival again soon.

It's MEGA, BLF

First year we fit 4 in my Mini and drove there (800 miles or so). Next year we took 25 of us in a 10 car Rally.

I'm currently listening to this and breaking internet rules at work, purely based on how good this album is and I want to paste the mo fo'in Album cover

Awesome album that!

25 of you at a festival sounds like a blast. I bet there were a few arguments about what to see though? That's the only thing that annoyed me about when I went to Leeds. Some of my mates had been the year before and had already seen The Raconteurs and We Are Scientists so couldn't be bothered to see them again, (freaks) but I wasn't going to miss out so I went by myself, and then I couldn't find my mates for hours. Haha!

Absolutely love that album. Need to dust that one off...haven't listened to it in a while. Saw them in Seattle when they were touring for Lost Souls. Brilliant!

The Boss is doing the Isle of Wight festival in June Milks

And yes, I really enjoyed it! I love them live, but I can imagine some were thinking hmmm, this is a bit crap? They're not a perfect looking/sounding band at all, but that's part of the reason most love them I guess. Here it is. They were formed in Cardiff, but none of them are Welsh, wonder if that annoyed them, ha. Nice to see Letterman talking with them, don't see him do that too much from what I've seen. That Budweiser advert got them that gig no diggity

Every year has been pretty well worked out to be honest. There's about 8 stages I think, all sort of different sizes for different bands. It was non stop from midday til midnight, every day for me though. I would seriously give this a thought if you ever want a Euro trip

I hate the taste of cheese, but I like your taste sir.

Blasphemy!

And the moment I saw your post, Sea Song was in my head, not my fav, but a great song. My favorite on that album was The Man Who Told Everything. Can play and sing that one. Accident, really that I found them, but that's the beauty of seeing live shows. Saw Badly Drawn Boy the night before...good weekend!
