Beach House - Teen Dream
 
I saw Chairlift in November 2008 at the Dublin Castle in Camden. They were supporting the Airborne Toxic Event and were riding a mini wave of popularity through one of their songs being used in an iPod commercial. I have to say, they were blown away by the A.T.E. that night. Nice song, though.
 
Karnivool - Themata.

Seriously brilliant album, the vocals are so passionate and angry yet so controlled, he does pretty much everything apart from scream. Here's the first song I ever heard by them, hope a few of you crazy cats like it.

I'm not going to lie, I'd never heard of them until I saw this album on metacritic's new releases early this week. From what I've read it seems their debut in 2008 didn't really fulfil their potential but this is being received really well. And quite rightly. It's not often I just can't stop listening to an album. I just hope I don't burn it out.
