What about Coleman?

everytime ive seen coleman at RB hes been fantastic. but i havnt seen him play there often.

i think the reason we are not seeing him play there is because its just moyes and his favourites like usual

All about opinions. I don't like him there and tbh, don't rate him as a player at all but I will give him his due should he impress. As it is, Hibbert is doing well and has done nothing to warrant being dropped... unless it's for Neville, which wouldn't be at all surprising

i actually thought mirallas and hibbert linked up quite well last night. i could be wrong but it seemed like they were developing quick chemistry

Funniest thing last night was Mirallas pinging the ball at Hibbert - he's not used to getting it that quick :) I do like Tony though he seems faster than last year and his tackling is top. I'd just prefer someone who could run at the defence on the right as well as the left

to be honest i think naismith on the right wing and coleman making runs from right back would be very similar to the partnership on the left if they could get it right, naismith looks like a similar player to pienaar/osman and could probably link up very well if played on the right with coleman behind him, its all well and good us just sitting on here having a chin wag about it and bigging up a possible team but will moyes really have the set to go with it? and i also would prefer mirallas to have a free role behind jelavic ( when hes fit )

Im not a big fan of Coleman at right back, but i think he may link with better offensively with Belg Kev then Hibbo, they were on different planets last night in terms of offensive ability and link up play.

Be interesting anyway but cant see Davey doing it.

Coleman and Naismith also seems like a good pair. As for Kev and Coleman they would be a great attacking threat that is for sure. As for the defensive side, we saw at the last match that Kev does track back and he will help Hibbo out maybe not like Pienaar does for Baines but still. As for Coleman, he is RB and the first quality that determines a right back is their defensive skills. Coleman has got the foundation, he just needs games at RB to sharpen his defensive side after two years of playing out of position.

I've been one of Hibbo's biggest critics down the years.

I'll have to admit, while his defending is always sturdy, good positionally, his attacking play has improved as his pants have gotten less baggy. Still not really comfortable with the ball at his feet, he at least now gets forward, and did whip in at least one good cross and a couple of speculators. Didn't really do anything wrong and nice little chip and chase in the first half. Anyone else noticed the correlation between his short size and his play?

If you noticed he now sits higher up the field now when we've got the ball, something that he should have been doing over the last ten years.

Better late than never, and Coleman would worry me at right back defensively. Attacking, he's great at getting to the by-line and with a Mirallas combo would really stretch defenses.

Not quite ready to wear Hibbo's big boy pants yet.

Agree with most comments that this would be Boss if Coleman was given more time to play RB. Atleast league cup matches and maybe even some early season games.

Hibbert played well. I don't understand this line of thinking. Not everyone on the pitch can bomb forward.

The teams at the top have full backs who bomb forward. As G Neville said the modern day FB overlaps and also now underlaps. Hibbert struggles with overlapping... However he is solid defensively.

I think it's a myth that Coleman can't defend... No one on here as seen enough of him there to make that call. He needs to start getting games there and given chance to improve the defensive side of his game. Im not saying throw him in for a run of games now.. But over the course of a few months he needs to start getting games off the bench there.

You could see with mirallas and Hibbert that once they got to the final third there was no chance of some clever over/under lapping

He may not be getting a run of games because the one person who does see it in training, Moyes, obviously doesn't think he's up to it. If he needs to improve his defensive game, he better up it in training first.

moyes and his favourites. he thinks neville is still good in midfield

Maybe that's right mate. Who knows! But as much as you can improve in training real games improve you the most. You'd think if he looked that bad defensively in training... Seein he's not getting on the pitch much anyway... Youd send him out on loan to improve.
