You aren't wrong about the woeful state of Schalke but the Villa team Gana was a part of were one of the 3 or 4 worst teams since football in England was founded in 1992 and he was still a great player. It can happen.

Bob is overrated as a national team coach too. Always seemed to make excuses. Always picked his son regardless.

He did great in the domestic game when he came on the scene. Then it kind of went cold for him. Some lacklustre managerial jobs.

International he did what was expected of him not that that should be hard given the route to the world cup for them.
