Awful defending for both goals. Another goal conceded at close range from a corner and another injury time goal to see us lose. We have to improve that and fast.

Yes VAR and the standard of refereeing is beyond a joke, but this is the easiest season yet to secure a european place and we are massively blowing it
Newcastle and spurs home results advertised the same hole in defence you're flagging here. The volume of unaddressed mistakes adding up now:

- No FBs
- Poor recruitment to date ( except KDH )
- Not developing new players
- limited attacking play

Positives us fans must focus on

- Our last three games are winnable
- Do so, and we make Europe in some form
- that gives us an improved window to find players

I see a lot of spammers saying the Pickford challenge when he trod on their forward's ankle (forget who it was) should have been a pen. They are showing a camera angle I had not seen before where he does catch him and then winks. Winks at whom, Howard Webb, Moyes I have no idea.

Pickford often winks after making a save or gathering the ball etc, they shouldn't read anything into it. 😉

I dont believe in conspiracy theories etc about VAR but cannot explain that one on Saturday, I actually celebrated a pen when I saw the replay. MOTD seemed to think VAR didn't look at it or were they saying the ref wasn't called to look at it? Looking forward to hearing how the premier panel or whatever the f its' called explain that one.

I've not heard a single pundit say that it wasn't a penalty, the only people that mattered were the referee and VAR team - how they don't see it as a penalty needs to be explained.

Barry claims it immediately with both arms raised so there has to have been at least some look at the incident. There was only on player grappling and one player that flicked the ball out with their hand.

VAR was supposed to correct just this type of error.

Surprise, surprise. That's as good as admitting it definitely should have been a pen.
