i can only speak for myself , id love to come to more games and even bring the family some time , but the area the stadium is in isnt the most pleasant for an outsider who doesnt know the city. parking is terrible too.
the stadium itself is a bit of a 1960s public toilet inside , compared to say old trafford. its dated and not appealing . even though were are cheaper than some , id pay more and attend more for a nicer cleaner safer enviroment.
i also have to agree the food is pants and overpriced. again id pay more for decent quality . a half cold hotdog served in a stale bun handed to me by a miserable git , crap.
its an expensive trip for me , yes the love of the club the goodison atmosphere and the football is a big pull , but it would just be more worth while and worth the expense if there was a bit more quality in the services and environment.

Best Example of how food and drink can be done very very well - Pac Bell Park - SF Giants

If you,ve been you know why. It should have be done at everton years ago.

So basically what we're all saying is if we got an extra 2000 on the gates each week we could put in a loan bid for Tal Ben Haim?

basically we dont fill out becouse we have this ....

I realise that personal stories are significantly insignificant but I like to talk to other people on the trains to and from matches (I know bruce and ijjy - shocking. Us northerners are barbarians).

And there were four or five foriegners going to the qpr game (a yank, a couple of krauts and two swedes) who were just day tripping to see a PL football match and choose everton because it was the cheapest big ground.

I suppose it would make a difference to backpacker-types and those travelling on a budget. Good point.

Maybe it's the lifelong/local Blues that are drifting. A lot of my friends are match-going Evertonians and hardly anyone's dad bothers with the match anymore. I'm only basing this on conversations with people I know/meet, but it seems as though Everton's older fan base is incredibly apathetic.

It's tough to create a buzz around the club when there's no money to spend. It's the same faces every year, doing their best but ultimately never achieving anything, and even the Uefa Cup/Europa League has been out of reach for three years now. Jelavic got people excited again during his purple patch last season, but already we're back to narrow scorelines (no matter how poor the opposition) and seven goal-a-season forwards.

Our home attendance is still great compared to many others, and we pretty much always sell out aways, wouldn't really say there is much to worry about. Also our average attendances are up this season compared to last by at least 2 thousand

I think the problem is the modern state that Goodison is, the only empty seats on matchday are obstructed views and that tells you something about our desperation for a new ground.

That's another reason why I'm with safe standing, attracting more and more people that will create an atmosphere and relive the 1980's gwladys street days. We need to follow in the footsteps of German football because they're setting a prime example.

True on the obstructed views they should really cut the prices by half for bad views . Also not many teams take the full away allocation so that has an effect

One of our best home wins last seawon, the attendance wqs under 30,000.

Does it really matter?

Do you go on the train all the time? Anyway to book seats and get the price down a bit?

The simple answer is 2000 obstructed seats and average away support of 1000 brings down our attendance so we have a very good home support. Our away support is about the 3rd best in the prem.

selling players every year to stay afloat and not investing it back into the squad dosent help, lies off bill every year, no ambition off the board, leaving a great old stadium to fall apart, no plans for the future, happy to be in the top 10 by the board, all have a impact on the atts imo.

Evertonians are great great supporters ,but as a few have said its hard for a lot of people out there with these torie bastards in charge.
