We won't be getting 12.5m in way of a transfer fee surely. That has to be part of a package and including his wages for the remainder of his contract.

Did he sign for a 2 or 3 year deal anybody?

Not sure on the specifics of the deal to be fair, ive seen different stuff reported 12.5 fee but us subsiding his wages, at best it has to be worth our while financially otherwise why bother.

His signing worked out better than I thought it would, at least at the start, but still think we would have been better spending that wage on someone else who would have been able to stay for several seasons and didn’t compete with other big money recruits.

Probably best for all concerned that he moves to the US this summer as think the relationship would get progressively sourer if he stayed, personally find it hard to excuse the drink driving offense.

Aye. He’s come back to try and push us on but it’s not quite worked out. He’s played in Europe for us, scored again and bagged a good hat trick. Plus no one genuinely hates him anymore.

Thanks for having a go Wayne, good luck, come back as a fan.
This.

No hard feelings. We move on.

If the new manager (if that is what this represents) is insisting on such advance decision making then he needs to get cracking and getting rid of far worse players than Rooney. Hopefully we see that dressing room clique further depleted in the coming weeks.

wow, there is a clique in the dressing room? tell us more of your inside knowledge bro, I presume this is 100% legit info?

12 million plus 150k off the wage bill not bad get a good young player in with a career ahead of him instead of one over the hill

Will miss him if he does go, essentially bullied Walcott into signing for us and would probably do something similar this Summer with other players.

I somehow don’t think we’ll miss his 10 goals in the first half of the season as much as Lukaku’s 25 across the entire season.

Of course not. But the point still stands. It should be dead easy to replace Wayne in his current state. But nothing surprises me with Mr Stephen Walsh.
