Could be indicative of a big change a-comin’
I think you might be allowing hopefulness to creep into your psyche there Groucho. Don't do it yourself. This is Everton we're talking about and where Everton is concerned, never ever forget: "it's the hope that kills you"

I wonder if he already knows Sam is gone and is putting the final nail in, but i also wonder if its all just paper talk nonsense, either way id be happy for him to still be here next season with a good quality maanger. Hopefully in the summer we can get it right, and go into the next season with him playing a small roll in the squad, if we had quality this season there wouldnt of been so much of a focus on him, and if we do get a top manager they wont be playing him every week anyway

Wayne Rooney transfer "agreed in principle"

Wayne Rooney looks set to depart Everton with a £12m move to MLS side DC United agreed in principle, according to Sky Sports.

Sky Sports News report the deal was drafted over the past seven weeks, during several visits to the States by Stretford alongside DC United's Chief Executive Jason Levein.

We recently ran a poll asking our Facebook fans whether they'd like Wayne Rooney to remain at Everton next season. From over 5,000 votes, 53% voted yes to 47% voting no.

Not good if it means Allardyce is staying...if it was one over the other I'd sack Allardyce first, he's doing more longterm damage than a few misplaced passes.
tbh, we need them both to go, but Rooney is not at the top of my list, depending how much you don't like 'A' over 'B' or 'C' there's 3, 4, 5, 6 infront of him.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not fussy on the manager but these sort of headlines are not a good look for us. Also raises more questions as to what is going on at the club, who is running things on a daily basis and how things like this get out.

The player might need reassurances but the way the headlines are , it’s coming off as if he’s trying to dictate matters above him. Might be wrong there but that’s my initial impressions. This season has been a farce.

Was bothered when he left.

Wasn't bothered when he came back.

Not bothered if he leaves.

My personal preference would be for him to stay and accept a reduced role but if he's leaving as he wants to be first name on the team sheet, then good luck to him. Thanks for your contribution this season Wayne.

He is. This is what happens when you are babied by United for however many years and nobody had the nuts to tell you to sit in the corner. He wants control of his boyhood club. If he can't have it, he will ditch it the first opportunity he can.

I haven't enjoyed watching his decline over the second half of the season, especially at the detriment to the team play. He was scoring goals playing further forward so the decision to move him back to stroke his ego was bizarre in my eyes.

However I wish him the best of luck, age catches up with the best of them, sooner still when they haven't looked after themselves off the pitch.

That Mirror headline is a big reason why Rooney needs to go as well as Allardyce.

The press wouldn't run a story like that about any other players. Get rid of the Rooney media circus.

He passed his prime, but there are so many great players around, older than him and you can't notice their years. If he would have hell of a summer in terms of training and preparation for new season then it would be something completely different. I just think he lost his edge. Unfortunatelly.

Whilst obviously not the player he was, if he had been managed correctly during the second half of the season in a more attacking role, he would have got close to 20 goals this season. Koff Gravy.
