I find it hard to worry about the whole Rooney thing now. I hope he goes where is best for him as if he does, that team will get the best out of him.

America and I'm sure he can have a good couple of years out there, but I don't think the disruption to family life will appeal to him or Colleen. If he stays here, then it will have to be in a much reduced role - I see him as I did when he came, a player who would come on regularly to finish off games with his intelligence after the game had slowed down a bit. If we had a faster squad who pressed harder, then this would have opened up this route for him - I have no idea who is on the cards as new first team players - but if these type of players come in, then great, but if not - go already.

Can’t believe he’s got the brass neck to be demanding playing time.

Would any of the teams above us, excluding Burnley, be guaranteeing him playing time?

You’re no legend of ours, Wayne, so don’t think you’re calling the shots here.

Punt him for his sheer arrogance.

Agree with all this, but am happy with his antics in the short term if it help crowbar fs from the dugout.

Yes he's had some crap games, haven't they all, but he's the only outfield player this season who has put 100% in every game, playing for us means something to him, you can clearly see that.

His goals earlier in the season were massive on where we finish in the league.

If it was a choice between him or Allardyce staying, there is no contest.

Hope we tell him Sams staying, sell him to DC, then sack Sam the next day, balded headed little beaut.

Wayne Rooney wants Everton manager clarification before deciding future
• DC United offer on the table for former England captain
• Rooney unhappy at lack of playing time under Sam Allardyce

He passed his prime, but there are so many great players around, older than him and you can't notice their years. If he would have hell of a summer in terms of training and preparation for new season then it would be something completely different. I just think he lost his edge. Unfortunatelly.
...but ended up giving it straight to the opposition?

This whole 'him or me' thing is a complete misnomer. A gift for the media to feed on.

So do not allow yourself to be whipped into a frenzy by the sensationalist headlines.

If Allardyce is in charge for the first game of the 2018/19 season, there will be a mutiny like football has never seen before.

His position is untenable. He knows it. We know it. And I am sure the board know it too.

What Rooney's motives are however, none of us know.

My guess is he's so vain and fuelled by his self-righteous sense of importance here, that he is angered by not being the golden boy any more and the first to be hooked-off in nearly every game. That ego of his is not capable of handling such affronts.

Like anyone, he cannot see his own deficiencies: that he has become a complete waste of space and a possession-surrendering liability - despite this being well-sussed by management and fans alike.

So suck it up and warm your ass on the bench Rooney, or naff off and warm the rest of your body with it in the USA.

You should never have come back here and you are already surplus to requirements.

Hope he goes. He is too good for us anyway.
It was never going to work out with the players we had to play around him.
Lets just stay in our 7th-10th bubble and be content with it.
