Waterfront Stadium Is Close

I still remain sceptical until I receive confirmation from Esk.

If the esk had been right Mata Witsel and Koulibaly would be lining up behind Lukaku tied to a 5 year deal and we'd have had the land purchase of the docks confirmed by now. Sadly his strike rate st the moment is poor. I'm sure he is close to the news but he over exaggerates how far along things are much to the frustration of fans.

If ITKs had said 'nothing is certain but club exploring dock site for potential stadium' then that would have accurately set expectations. Instead we were told the land had been purchased, location secured, it would be announced this week etc. From what's being reported it just doesn't seem that far along.

The club have spoken. They've said they have a preferred site (which has been confirmed by various sources to be the docks) and are pursuing it, along with backup plans.

Given the history of failed moves, and of speaking-too-soon, I'd imagine the club see it as far more prudent (not unreasonably) to wait until the deal is signed and sealed before announcing anything further.

One of the biggest concerns regarding the docks is whether Peel would be willing to do a deal. If you read today's quotes and see them as anything other than a confirmation that Peel are indeed willing, and even keen to have Everton involved with that area of development, then really there's nothing down for you.

I'd feel sorry for you, except we all know WHY you post this relentlessly negative drivel in every thread - and I doubt very much it's because you believe it. (if it actually IS that, then I really do pity you).

The club have already spoken. What gives you the right to be party to discussions behind closed doors? Would you rather get fatuous comments like "we'll have a spade in the ground in 60 days" (copyright Hicks & Gillette)?

The club are never going to announce BMD as the chosen site as it's not how business works.

Peel would rinse us if we did that.

A potential partner in the development has spoken at an event where they are speaking about the whole of Liverpool Waters and name checked specifically one part of the vision for the north end docks concerning Everton...but you dont think the club themselves should be keeping their fans informed of the progress being made?

Are you sure about this? You think the club should just continue to allow Peel, Anderson, Meis to bleed out bits of info and they should remain mute on the subject?

That's just daft. Why on earth do the club employ a media department? They are utterly pathetic.

Unfortunately I have to agree. If Esk would put "I think that......." before a lot of his posts it would put things in their proper context.

That's unfair. IIRC he'd usually add a caveat like "subject to all things remaining equal" or some such qualification.

He's been hounded out and that's pretty damning. He does work for this forum still regarding mental health awareness and I'm sure the site owner values his input.
