I see the best part of all this is that we must have agreed in principle the outline of a deal.
Probably a few sneaky clauses/details going in from both sides, perhaps we will rent the land from peel to save cash, or we want percentage of stuff sold off the back of business that move in to serve the stadium. Then of course the likely buy-out clause for the RS to take it over once built, we want 500 million but peel want 250!

All jokes aside i think they would have thrown us out the door during early negotiations if we were messing them around, they would not waste a lot of time if they didn't think a stadium (state of the art no less) was deliverable. All you can ask as a blue is that we try our best to seize the opportunity, it looks like we are.

It is a hugely significant announcement.
Significant because it has been by Peel.

The announcement lacks a timeline, but then the only person who has ever given any mention of when a stadium may be completed was Joe Anderson. Certainly not the club and until today I don't believe I have ever heard any comment of significance by Peel.

The most recent comments by Robert Elstone related to how a stadium would be funded , not when and not where.

Deadlines and announcement days have been created on fora such as this by people who are at best probably making intelligent guesses , at worst stirring [Poor language removed].

Hmm if I read into it correctly though.... Peel are keen on the development.
Doesn't mean they're selling.
Means they could want to keep ownership. I can see them milking us for exorbitant rent, until we either are bled dry and stagnate, with a blood sucking parasite on our back, or we move out, leaving our gleaming new stadium for Bigstand FC and go elsewhere.
