Jose Baxter would rather float round in his mates car while their all smoking weed than focusing on his football

Victor Anichebe had injuries

James Vaughan was great but held together by cellotape and blutac

Jack Rodwell thought he was a lot better than he was

For every Rooney a club brings through theirs a million Jack Rodwells who have all the potential but for whatever reason don't make it, they still have a great career like

Danny Cadamarteri looked like a prospect at one point but just drifted into obscurity, apparently finished up at Carlisle and is now retired.

Agree with a lot of the above comments, just imagine for a moment the money they are on at such a early part of their career, they are then surrounded by people in the club and outside telling them basically what they want to hear, they live in this bubble and are adored by thousands, soon enough it becomes the normal and they plateau, once that happens it’s a steady decline down the team, out of the team and down the leagues or float around other clubs. Bang average players like Gosling, Noble etc all multi multi millionaires so they just shrug their shoulders and move on. It’s only the very best and most motivated that keep a good professional head on them and last for years at the top, 2 examples of this Coleman and Baines.

Happens at every club. We probably have some players chances they wouldn’t have had anywhere else because in the Moyes period we had to. The honest truth is that the likes of Baxter Vaughan Anichebe probably wouldn’t have got a chance at prem level anywhere else. Rodwell just had physical attributes beyond his year group and was blessed with pace power and a bit of composure. Once he got to the top level though his complete lack of football brain got found out.
I'd heard from various places that Rodwell just doesn't like footy that much. Pretty much went into it because of the advantage his stature gave him and the opportunities presented.

Could be wrong like but I can see it

.....the club don’t get many wrong that they move on. Lundstrum and Duffy both went down the leagues and found a route back, good luck to them but decisions have to be made at Everton, we can only keep the very special youngsters.
