2025/26 Vitalii Mykolenko

People like yourself will see how much Mykolenko was the problem when a good full back comes in. He does a better job stifling our own attacks than he does the opposition.
Mate, my favourite recent player was Leighton Baines. I get the drop off from him and Digne to Myko. But, he's not the issue. We're in transition, Myko gets sold soon enough but I think we've other pressing areas to solve. Goalscoring being primary for me.

(People like myself 🤣) - patronising cock

We will score a lot more goals when we have two full backs who can attack properly. Will make our play so much fluid to not have two players in those positions that don't really want the ball.

difference between him and Diouf yesterday was night and day; one was dynamic and threatening in attack and the other was as pedestrian as ever!
Two of Diouf's international teammates play for us. Surely yesterday made the gulf in class between him and Mykolenko obvious to all inside the ground. You'd hope left back is a priority position to fix and we are in for him if they go down. He'd be brilliant behind Ndiaye.

21 years old, 6 foot tall, rapid, athletic, strong. Cost them £19m.

Obviously we'll ponder for two months and watch Brighton get him instead.

I think he is a huge priority to replace. And not just as a playing issue, although that is clearly part of it. As others have said, we will carry much more attacking threat when we don’t have a player who basically can’t contribute at all in that respect. He is a very very limited footballer.

But it’s as much a mentality thing for the club and the fan base for me. I think the fact he seems a nice lad, and nobody would question his attitude feeds into this almost sympathetic “he’s ok, he does a job” attitude that a lot of our fans have. And the danger is the club will have it as well. It’s an attitude that has grown and festered over the last 20 years. We simply will not rise to the occasion and start to challenge as a serious club again while players like this regularly start games for us. Nice lad etc etc (probably, never met him) but be brutal about it and improve. Same with the comfort blanket extension for Seamus. He was quality once upon a time but so was Peter Reid, and we haven’t got him on the playing staff anymore.

I should add I’m also in the camp who doesn’t think he is anywhere near as solid defensively as is made out! “But he always keeps Salah quiet!!!”………apart from all those times Salah has scored against us you mean??
