Could be mate, be surprised myself, from a career progression point of view I’d be surprised if he had a higher profile move lined up on PL wages.
….if he intends to run down his contract he’ll be in a very nice financial position to negotiate his own lucrative deal. Probably not the case but there’s a number of possible scenarios. I expect you’re nearer the mark.
If that was the case mate why would we prolong it for a year, we now have an uncommitted and unsettled player, doesn’t seem more likely to me.
See us deciding and trying to sell him on as more likely and not offer him a new deal. I think he will be sold now as I see him being unhappy that option had been triggered instead of a new deal or a free.
We have form for this, didn’t we do it with Maupay, exercise an option, loan him out with an obligation, think there will be a market for Myko - Napoli I think we’re interested a couple of years back.

we need solid dependable alternatives, a bit of competition for places, Kean and Mike stay, get some decent players in. A striker who gets 15 a season or 10 a season but a few assists changes this team massively.

I would love Hugo Bueno and Joao Gomes from Wolves. Get a decent right back and a right winger, along with a striker like you say. Not sure if we’ll manage to cover all five positions - I’ve no idea what the financial picture looks like - but it seems obvious to me that these are the areas we need covering the most.
If we DO sell anyone then it might be best to cash in on Barry if anyone is interested, send Rohl and George back to their clubs and consider selling Tim as well
