Trippier on a free ffsDecent today tbh
Supported N'dayie when he could and linked with George later on.
No problems there.

Yeah I thought he had a really good game - I think so much of his defensive work goes absolutely unnoticed. When he leaves, we’ll play with a little more fluidity and will have someone who gets a couple more assists, but may very well concede half a dozen more goals a season.Decent today tbh

I half agree - love Branth and the way he allows us to play in a different way - but O'Reilly is a good example because City's most vulnerable points at the moment are the space behind him on the left and Nunes on the right. They are great going forward, but as players who are actually natural 8s, so much less comfortable on the turn. I think there are very few full backs who are equally good offensively and defensively aren't there - and, if we did have a flying full back overlapping Grealish, we would be very vulnerable down that side, whether Branth was there or not. In short, we should appreciate Myko a bit more and not be seduced by the Marc Hottigers of this world!….if you watch O’Reilly for City getting into those ridiculous advance positions, just note who sits in behind; Marc Guehi. Guehi enables O’Reilly to make such a difference for City.
Everton has a high quality left-sided player in Branthwaite, I’ve always thought he makes Mykolenko look much better when he plays because he’s so good at covering that left channel. It’s a huge waste that Branthwaite’s ability isn’t fully exploited to enable a high quality LB to play on that side.
I’m not suggesting O’Reilly levels of attacking threat but blend is so important, especially when you think what a difference a full back that is on the same wavelength as Grealish could make. Branthwaite allows that to happen, it could be a huge improvement.
Can do a job when supported and backs to the wall defending any kind of attack and he’s useless. Plays safe 90% of the time and usually goes backwards as useless as obrien as a full backPeople keep saying he's a good defender..he really isn't.
Has to be aware of where salah is, and he wasn't.Can do a job when supported and backs to the wall defending any kind of attack and he’s useless. Plays safe 90% of the time and usually goes backwards as useless as obrien as a full back
Thought he was ok today.
Sure, it want due to multiple breakdowns on the other side while we had comfortable possessionCost us for the first letting salah waltz in to score
that had better not be taken up![]()
