Haha that's true actually. Nearly all of Villa Parks finest moments have not involved Aston Villa!
 

While I've always supported Everton, the first season I really remember paying attention was 87/88 I was a bandwagon 10 year old! also I had my first panini sticker album. Thats when my view of how important clubs are was formed. So there you have it. Villa weren't there. Luton Town are a bigger club than Villa.

I'll always hate Newcastle a lot more than Villa. I remember when Newcastle went down I was in my final year of uni at the time and was watching their game with my Geordie mate in the house share we lived in. It was pure joy from my side, watching him sit there, head in his hands, as it slowly dawned on him that his beloved black and white army would be plying their trade in the second tier. If only they could stay there, but unfortunately seems like they're back in the big time next season.

What happened to Matt ?

He hasn't posted since Dec 28th, so not long after Esk stopped moderating, which makes me wonder if there's a link.

If I didn't know for sure that he's not, then I'd wonder if Matt was an Esk multi.

On topic, Villa are a big club, but we"re a much better club.

Probably after we won our 7th title in 1970 we could say we were, then they matched and bettered it after their European cup, but seeing we've added 2 more league titles, our own European pot and a 5th fa cup i would say we are bigger in terms of trophies given the fact that most of theirs comes pre-war.

As they have been relegated twice since they won the European cup is in our favour too.

We've been better than them for that bit longer, but it's not a totally stupid statement unlike the Southampton conversation when we poached Koeman.
