ahh fifa 08's online tho.

I'm in the pro evo camp myself, but its not out till jan on the wii.

so i'm 'making do' with fifa 08.

fifa online for the Wii is great. Except i can never play fixtures in the interactive league because it never finds a match.

I wont buy a new console until its about $250. I reckon its silly season if you buy a console within the first 12 months of its release. Wait till after christmas... watch the price drop and then buy. All the games you guys have blown wads of cash over are in the second hand aisle for next to nothing!

Viva la bargains!

In Britain
xbox 360 + game - 249 GBP = 560 AUD
PS3 no game - 279 GBP = 634 AUD
Wii + game?? - 199 GBP = 452 AUD
new games 30 to 40 GBP?

In Australia
xbox 360 no game - 579 AUD = 254 GBP
PS3 no game - 699 AUD = 307 GBP
Wii + no game - 399 AUD = 175 GBP
games $80 - $100

personally speaking, I'm not that interested in saving £30 on a wii or a few games, but having to wait 12 months to play it.
If moneys that tight then fine, but to me at least, money certainly aint the be all and end all.
I would say whatever money saved over that 12 month period would not compensate for the fun you missed out on.
Me and mrs inertia play games all the time when the little'uns are in bed and have regular belly laughs and fun.
And the hours spent playing wii tennis and bowls with our five year old daughter after school are a real family laugh-in!

also you can now sign up to online games rental services, and have a constant flow of games all year round for the price of 3 games.

Then your just getting ripped off.

Simply put your going to have to wait three years for the next console.

You dont want to save $100? its more like $200+ for a couple of extra games?? Its overpriced!

It's all in how you look at it. For me, I waited over a year to get the Xbox 360, and I am happy I did, now I have the TV to play it on and the brilliant games are coming out.

For plenty of people waiting for the price drops is the way to go, but if you really want to save money, you wait for the next-gen consoles to comeout and then pick up the previous gen consoles for dirt cheap with a massive library of games to choose from at ridiculously cheap prices.

ripped-off how exactly?

your talking rubbish mate!

everything goes down in price eventually.

following your line of argument to its exagerated conclusion maybe I should wait 10 years and pay £10 in a car boot sale, for a ps3 otherwise I'm getting ripped off!!

just for the record, it is nearly 12 months since I bought my wii, and theres not a chance that price is coming down anytime soon, they still cant meet demand in the uk.

As for the games, try playing an online game 12 months after release, esp sport games.
go to your bargain bucket and pick up last years ea titles and see how many people are playing it online now that most people have moved onto the current version.

If I wanted to be thrifty, I wouldnt get into games at all.

Wheres the option for PC?? Nothing beats a top spec PC. PC's have always been 'next gen' (nonsense marketing buzzword!).

But a top-spec PC costs thousands of $$$ Which doesn;t really compare to the price of the consoles. Don't get me wrong, I love my PC and the games for it, but I want the best of both worlds.

I made the thread with intention of hopefully being bombarded with people who wanna play soccer games online.

As good for gaming as pc's are, given the choice, most people seem to prefer to use consoles for soccer games.

I'll get Pro Evo 2008 soon enough, then I will provide the cannon fodder for you all to get your confidence up on.

Speaking of, anybody remember Cannon Fodder on the PC??? Brilliant game back in the day :D

Nah not really when compared to a PS3, a damn good machine, ex-monitor will set you back about £800, a PS3 £600ish, but one you buy only a few games you've already paid the same and PC games only a few months old go on ebay for under a fiver, plus what you can do with a PC is far far superior to a console.

Dylan, your making me sound a right nerd now.

But I agree that footy games are only good against other people on consoles their so dull against a pc.
