vdm blasts moyes

You might be right Bill, but I dont think its a case of Moyes didnt like him, so didnt play him, I think he burned his bridges and was given countless chances to prove he wanted to play.

Moyes is saying nothing about it, dignity and class and all that. But hopefully 1 day the story will come out.

Sure, he wasn't injured the whole time, but neither was he banging on the door making it a ridiculous decision not to play him. Was he tearing up the reserves on a rainy night in front of 200 people? Was he first in and last out at training? Was he so skilled and so popular that senior players were telling Moyes it was silly not playing him?

The rumours about his behaviour and attitude are neither here nor there and I'm happy to believe and have sympathy with what he says about his daughter and the sleepless nights.

But we've seen this season with Rodwell and Gosling that players can come into the squad and carve a place for themselves. Moyes could have played an Ecuadorian international instead (and did sometimes) or could have played a Dutch international and (mostly) didn't.

I'm happy with that decision, even if it was based on the way he trained or not, or looked enthusiastic or not, or fitted in with the team or not. As a manager all those things are important - but they aren't the kind of things that fans see.

No matter what Moyes though/thinks of his, he's wasn't/isn't fit enough to play in the EPL.

it was unfair that moyes didn't give him more of a chance after he did well against liverpool, bringing him on for 5 minutes against Bolton? it usually takes about that long just to get going, his good work against liverpool should have been rewarded with a solid block of playing time

for that i can kind of see where he's coming from, he's speaking from frustration because he probably hasnt been given quite a fair chance. still, he's never going to be anywhere near as good as he was in italy, so if you don't like it andy, good riddance

His Wiki page makes painful reading, I know its not the Bible, but I think most of it is fairly accurate.

On 25 March, 2006, in his first Merseyside derby against Liverpool, he received a straight red card for his challenge on Liverpool's Xabi Alonso. Everton eventually lost the match 3-1.

In the summer of 2006, van der Meyde proved once again to be the centre of much speculation regarding his future, having failed to properly settle at Everton, making only 11 appearances in his first season thanks to a combination of injuries and rumours of alcoholism. He staunchly denied any such allegations and reaffirmed his commitment to Everton in June 2006, stating

"I want to stay, I am desperate to stay. I love it here. Everything suits my game. I'm happy in England and I want to show everyone that I can really play football. If I get the chance next season, I will do it."

Van der Meyde was admitted to hospital in the early hours of August 7, with breathing problems. It was claimed that his drink had been spiked whilst in a bar in Liverpool. He was fined by Everton for breach of discipline. To further add to a miserable week, his house was burgled during Everton's friendly with Athletic de Bilbao five days later. His Ferrari, Mini Cooper, and dog were amongst the items stolen. The cars and pet dog were since found, although the Ferrari had its windscreen smashed.[4] In March 2007, van der Meyde accused manager David Moyes of telling 'downright lies' in regard to his fitness. He apologised afterwards.

In July 2007, van der Meyde played a full 90 minutes in Coleraine, Northern Ireland. In arguably his most successful pre-season at the club, he went on to complete several friendly matches in an attempt to gain fitness ahead of the new Premier League campaign. However, van der Meyde further cast a doubt over his Everton future by failing to turn up for a scheduled training session. After a string of disciplinary problems, rumours (which proved to be inaccurate) grew that Moyes would opt to sell the player before the end of the transfer window.

On 18 August, 2007, van der Meyde was suspended following a 'breach of club discipline', because he had failed to appear at training, being fined two weeks' wages, a total of £50,000.[5][6] Following this, he did not make a first team appearance for over a year and was limited to just reserve team football.

Look at the way Moyes has nutured the likes of Rodwell , Gosling , Arteta and Cahill . Made them into better players and treated them well . Not just Moyes but ...........whisper it Kenwright aswell . I know that if you cross DM you may live to regret it in respect of getting another chance at Everton so it is Moyes whom I trust on this one . If VDM was really about it he would have taken his chance . There is no doubt he has talent so that just tells me all I need to know as to why we havent seen it .

Theres the door Andy kindly fcuking use it .

Just shut up and **** off Andy. Problem was, you never were worth a minute of Moyesies time. You proven that again by these comments. It's always the same with poor old Andy. Just blame everyone except yourself. Moyes wrecked his career? Right, I always thought it was his attitude and mental problems.

Fair enough his child has been in hospital. wouldn't wish that on anybody and it's an issue that's far more important than football. However, it also shows the life he's having as a player. If it happened to an ordinary family man, he'd still have to show up at his job and live up to his expectations.

As they say:
Good riddance to bad rubbish!!!

Bye bye Andy, and I'm already looking forward to the excuses for your next faillure.(n)
