VAR

Working exactly as they want it to - for the VAR team to corroborate the atrocious on field decisions for both penalties is just mind blowing. Then to ignore the exact same thing for the longstaff challenge?!

I can’t have incompetence, it’s deeper than that - it’s corruption, and it’s match fixing.

Strange to think when var was implemented we all thought it would level the playing field and stop the teams well known for professional cheating.
How wrong could we have been?

It worked perfectly well at the World Cup, but for some reason the PL needed longer to bring it in. Now the World Cup and CL have automated offside but the PL now need longer to trial that. Why is technology good enough for the biggest competitions in the world but not for the PL? The answer is they need time to figure out how to manage it so they can keep their matchfixing and corruption going.

Their other technique is to get as many people in the media trying to discredit VaR as much as possible. Then we can go back to there being no technology whatsoever and you’ll never see a Liverpool goal flagged for offside ever again

The best one had to be when the VaR camera didn’t work at Anfield. Priceless, yet people continue on like this is a serious sport.

Last words on the penalty debacles last night. I swear if that was us playing we would have had two bookings for simulation and the same commentary team would have advocating more retrospective action.
No other team in the league gets the type of favourable decisions and support of the media than Liverpool and I'm sure the ex referee Dermot Gallagher is licking his lips at the chance of collaboration of those pathetic decisions last night.

It's very much gotten to the stage now where if the officials in charge of it aren't using it properly then it just simply needs to go.

I just cannot believe how much controversy this system has caused given that it's no. 1 remit was to actually take the controversy out of decisions. What an absolute farce it has been..

It's really, really not hard to buy into the narrative that it's being using used purely to benefit certain clubs over others in any given situations..

Throw it all in the bin and put 2 extra officials on the pitch. They can look after one half of the pitch each, main ref keeps up with play. Should always be an official within 15 yards of play, with 3 possible views of every incident all over the pitch (2 refs and a lines-person or whatever they are called now). Bin off the 4th official. Completely pointless - just someone for manager to moan at but has no power to correct incorrect decisions. Stick VAR person as the other extra one. Don’t even need to recruit more refs.

All fully mic’d up and streamed live on the “Red Button” and online to anyone who can be arsed in the stadium. Would still get the odd wrong decision due to the speed of play, but would immediately remove almost all chance of deliberate bias; you’d need at least 3 people to collude and all be able to quickly explain their biased clearly wrong decision on the fly in front of millions - not possible.

Take every single penny saved on the tech and push it down to support grassroots refs who get slaughtered and abused every weekend for a few quid. Local FA’s already do anonymous safeguarding visits to weekend matches, increase resource for these and add focus onto referee abuse instead of just talking about it and saying it’s awful, with coaches/teams who do it thrown out of local leagues.

Anfield derby, 0-0 going into the 95th minute, an Everton forward is 1v1 with the keeper and that incident happens.

Do we get the penalty? Not a 'kin chance.
Remember the Milner hand ball from a McNeil shot last season it was a lot worse than Onana’s , With about 30 seconds to go. The ref and var just couldn’t wait to get the game over and act like it didn’t happen

remember carragher bear hugging Lescott in the dying moments of a game and Clattenfraud later coming out and saying 'you dont give a penalty against Liverpool at the Kop end in the dying moments of a game'

But the world is against them.
