What benefit do Wolves get with that?

Nothing, zilch, nada. As @Rooney_Tunes said, it’s posturing to the masses and appeasing the press. Like the apologies we got, it makes no difference.

Have things changed? No. Will they? Unlikely. The officials will have the weekend off, paid, and back to officiating before you know it.

As I’ve said countless times, the issue is that the PGMOL is a closed shop with no accountability.

I was originally young and naive enough to actually believe that this sham would eradicate the officials mistakes and make the games and results much fairer for all.

I’ve since come to realise that VAR is doing exactly what it was invented for - organised match fixing dependant on the club.

Football is much worse off with it than it was before.

I disaree. I think VAR isn't the problem. The officials and premier league are the problem. Why isn't anyone in the media shouting for more transparency from officials? All we get is "should VAR be binned". What would that change? You'd still have the dodgy officials.

Watch operation flagrant foul on netflix to understand how corrupt officiating in sport is. The NBA was directing officials based on the team playing. That's the exact thing we are seeing with football.

I think there are more dodgy officials now than pre-VAR.

you knew exactly who was bent back - Poll, Clattenberg, Atkinson, Gallagher, even going back to Clive Thomas and Collina.

You also knew who was ok and would give you a fair shake - Hackett and Halsey to name two, can’t think of many more but there will have been some.

They are all as bad now, and the VAR ones are even worse.

Watched the sky thing about it with Gallagher who said it wasn't a foul but the goal wouldn't have been given if the foul hadn't been given because Keane was offside when he hit the shot that went in.

Not sure about that tbh.
Keeper touches the ball ( meant to block) Keane is then onside.
These muppets don’t even know the rules.

it works properly in other sports so the reason it doesnt in football is ego/hubris or organised corruption.

The ref blew the whistle before Keane touched the ball, the games stopped as soon as that happens, I dont think VAR couldve overturned it even if they wanted to.
Am I wrong with that?

That's not the rules.. if play is stopped and restarted VAR can't intervene. there was plenty of time between when he stopped play and it was restarted. Also VAR can only be used after the referees decision. We've been done here and people are making up nonsense reasons as to why VAR didn't get involved.

It's extremely close on the offside as far as I can see. Not as clear cut as was said.

My point was that the ref blew the whistle before the goal was scored, Fulham players would've argued they stopped due to ref whistling hence play being dead at that point.
The 'goal' was scored when the game was dead so var couldn't have gave the goal.

I could live with that in the short term because it would narrow the focus again onto the officials. While there's ambiguity and multiple areas of blame, they can explain it away.

What is the exact rule here considering the ball hitting Tarkowski's arm? Clearly he couldn't do anything about it but then on the other hand, any handball leading to a goal has been previously resulted disallowing the goal...
