VAR

to me it looked dead level

and i've always been told if its dead level your onside

football is meant to be entertaining your not supposed to rob goals off someone for being potentially 1 milimetre offside
But "looks" isn't the rule any more - the lines are calibrated to be parallel to the goal lines and perspective means they won't look straight.
VAR for offside is more reliable than a human.
Just because we don't like it (and I don't because of the killjoy factor) doesn't means it's wrong.

You have to ask why Pigmol and the league didn’t go for the semi automated offsides that seemed to work so well in the recent World Cup.

VAR isn’t the problem, it’s the corrupt officials using it that’s the issue.
Fully agree. It works like hawkeye in tennis where people simply accept the decision regardless and it doesn't involve manual lines being drawn which often look disproportionate to the actual pitch.

Var is ultimately a referee, it's not technology/AI. The Rodri handball, the VAR official literally lives down the road from City's ground. You're still at the mercy of potentially biased or corrupted officials using it.

I don't think Var will ever work for pens in general because penalties are generally down to opinion. If your player goes down you want a pen. It's given at the other end and you're up in arms.
Ultimately Sky have built their model on ensuring certain teams do well and you have a relegation scrap, as well as teams fighting to win Premier League. I don't believe, mistakes being made are honest mistakes. I don't believe Clattenburgs nonsense, about his performance at GP, he gave Hibbert a red based on Gerrards instructions. He didnt have nightmare, he was just corrupt. As I said on other thread having RS fans in media plays a huge part in what media choose to focus on. Rugby is a sport played by honest people, it's transparent. All VAR has done is confirmed that premier league is corrupt.

var should be used like nfl review only used when a coach wants to challenge it
I would make it for anything. You can challenge 4 times. If you are wrong a player
gets straight red

this micro observing every goal to see if it's a micrometre offside HAS TO STOP

They need to judge offsides by where the legs are. If they are behind or even with the last defender, they are onsides. Easy. Instead, they leave the rules open to interpretation and that is where the confusion is. If you could just make a firm ruling, it would be significantly easier to govern. I think they want to make it ambiguous so they can call it as they see fit.
