There will always be controversy where var is concerned as everyone will have different views to each other...

I think we should have Challenges....say two challenges each half for each team & when they have gone their gone...

The refs decision then is final....

Klopp should have been sent off yesterday for intimidating the ref....

The problem is, this works fine in cricket, but look at the red card v soton. If we challenged that and they still stick with a yellow, like they did, then we're still here complaining because two guys who know absolutely nothing about football are making a clueless decision, it's just one of them is doing it using a screen.

Yes of course you will have decisions that will be inconclusive but you do in cricket like umpires call...

It would stop managers like Klopp intimidating refs, that man is a disgrace a very bad loser...

Refs and the VAR need to be mic'd up every game. I don't buy the excuse that the players language isn't fit to broadcast. The technology exists to turn the refs mic on or off via the red button. The reason they don't want ref's with microphones is it will be harder to justify bent calls. It's easy after the game to make an excuse, but in the moment, on the spot, it will be harder for them to cheat.
I don’t think it’s about bent decisions. I actually don’t think any refs are bent, though some have and show clear bias to particular teams - the amount and softness of pens Man U have had this year is clear as day bias - but it’s about them not wanting to be made accountable. Never have they had to be.

Last week someone or other came out and confirmed that all 3 games had wrong VAR decisions on pens.

That’s not accountability. None of tye teams that benefited lose the benefit, none of the teams wrongs get anything back, none of the officials involved were named, called out or sanctioned, just “oh yeah, they were wrong, them” and move on.

Years ago we had a few crap refs like Rennie, and occasionally (if they upset Fergie!) they’d be demoted to the championship for a game or two, but now nothing happens.

Plenty of bent refs. They don't pack up halfway through a season and move abroad for nothing.

VAR such a waste of time. Just watching the Man U Soton game,If that wasn't a red...give up.

Not a huge fan of it myself mainly because I think it takes the pressure off refs and thus their overall performance has dropped. Refs now just let goals or fouls happen they're unsure of knowing someone is always there watching on a screen to correct an error:

I said in a thread a while back that VAR is part of the Sky TV package. When you buy Sky/BT you get a games to watch Saturday morning, Saturday evening, Sunday morning, Sunday evening, Monday night, and you get VAR. Its the next stage of TV taking over the game.

Is got nothing to do with making the game fairer, and of course it doesn't do that at all anyway, for various reasons. And it never will, no matter how much they tweak it.

99% of people who go to the game hate it with a passion.

Ok - 99% of the people WHO I KNOW who go to the game hate it. So thats everyone who sits near me at Goodison, everyone who I've been on coaches to games with (apart from one bloke who makes up the 1%), all the Bristol City season ticket holders I know (I live in Bristol), and everyone else I happen to know from anywhere else who goes to the game.

Happy with that?
