VAR & rule changes next season...

Whether we like it or not VAR will be here next season...

Correct decisions should be more accurate...

The joy of celebration can work both ways depending on what side of the fence you sit....

I know that’s what’s being followed in the women’s World Cup but I thought I read the premier league won’t be using VAR to review it for taken penalties and they’ll rely on the referees to manage/review/police it?

Yes your right.... Just read BBC review...

Is it though? Goal line technology is good. But they've changed the offside rule many times and personally if someone is in line its enough for me. What happened to clear daylight? Getting a ruler out and checking exactly is pedantry but that's my opinion. For instance the goal England scored recently was a goal in my view and would have been 9/10 before VAR. And the one Sterling scored against Spurs was very marginal. Was offside originally about being exacting? It was originally about advantage, your left toenail being offside isn't an advantage is it? Yes handball worries me. It also annoys me that the joy of celebration may be ruined at times by a VAR check and we may see long delays to games.

Whether its marginal or not. The rule is if you're ahead of the defender (or 2nd last player) you're office, whether it be 10 yards or 10mm.
I get what you're saying. I really do but ultimately its a factual thing.

I've been watching games that hve had VAR in for like two years now. It's not too bad,I do kinda get the celebration of a goal thing but gotta remember it should be less common that a goal is checked for VAR anyway.

It should be factual, but then they brought that stupid interfering with play nonsense. It does my nut in. The original rule was the best. Any forward pass anywhere on the pitch and if there's someone offside, it's offside. The newer rules start all this nonsense with strikers starting 10 yards offside from set plays and takes about 2 minutes whilst everyone is pushing eachother to jostle for a position.

Fair enough hopefully it is better ultimately but they need to speed up the decisions and make the rulings clearer. The refs will go to VAR all the time because ultimately they are cowards. It takes so long sometimes too that you wonder what the point is? Football is about the game not the VAR. I guess my point it used to be just play on its a goal if it was that marginal. Being exacting about milimeteres is fussy in my view. But looks like I am in the minority...

Yup and that's before you get into phases of play. I think VAR might be a can of worms, how far do you take it back? What if the balls goes out of play? Will they look at throw ins and corners going out eventually? The game will change.

More superb use of VAR here. Five or six minutes to award a goal... Boring
More to do with the protests of the Cameroon team. Clearly a goal, they don’t even know the rules. VAR didn’t refer an England girl being spat on and one elbowed. An absolute shambles from the officials.

The only thing that is slightly annoying me is those insanely late flags for stuff.

What’s the point in that?

It saves embarrassment for the linesman if he incorrectly flags for offside...

Linesman knows that he does not need to now we got VAR.....

He can wait till he gets a call in his earpiece....
