surely Usmanov knew this was the response he'd get. whats his next move?

He made the bid public to try and put some pressure on Kroenke from the terraces, which worked to a point, but he already knew the answer was no. Kroenke coming out with a definitive "I'm not selling" leaves him with a choice of either trying again with a massively over valued bid, or accepting the status quo.

kroenke is going nowhere no matter how much he bids though

Or divesting.

Last role of the dice and a prime chance to put the squeeze on Kronke. With so much fan discontent after the self entitled, perennial CL last 16 bottlers will not be there for the first time in 2 generations.

Usmanov can either sit on his arsenal % with no influence whatsoever.
Or he could get on board the toffeetrain, Destination: World Domination.

What a surprise ... Not.

All Kroenke has to do is a spend a few £m in the summer and the Arsenal prawn sandwich brigade won't have a bad word to say about him.

This

I think Usmanov knew he had absolutely no chance with his bid and just wanted to rock the boat before football shuts for a few months

Fans are fickle, forgotten about after they sign some Peruvian for a couple of squillion in the summer

I'm sure this paves the way for Usmanov to very cleverly offload his shares via a well devised & pre-orchestrated maneuver with business associates or family.

He'll be balls deep into Everton by Christmas.

Would Kroenke ever hand over his own money to Usmanov which in turn could, maybe, possibly, allow him to invest is us?

I don't think he'd give Usmanov that pleasure, he'll probably need to shift his shares elsewhere.

Would any Usmanov investment change anything while Bill and Elstone are still involved in the club?
