Well we know with the FF sponsorship that Usmanov has at least some degree of implied and indirect involvement in Everton.

I wonder to what extent Everton has made an impression on Usmanov, if at all.

Surely he exchanges thoughts with Moshiri on how things are going respectively.

I don't make any moral judgements about these people really. Football has regrettably become dog-eat-dog and money invested in Everton is at least money not going elsewhere.

It can only be to our advantage that Moshiri is regarded as the right hand man and confidant to someone worth close to GBP 20 Billion.

We also know Usmanov is clearly not satisfied with the state of affairs at Arsenal.

Should he fail to progress with his buyout, then I also think it is reasonable to assume we are primed for a takeover bid by him, should he be able to sell up at Arsenal, and want to lead a transformative project elsewhere.

That is the crux really. I believe Moshiri was a Man Utd fan, invested in Arsenal with Usmanov, and now owns half of Everton.

Does Moshiri want Everton to be his own personal quest for success? I believe he does and that only when the stadium is delivered to the iconic standards that have been set, will he consider it even half job done.

When we are playing in Bramley Moore, I think then the question is how far does Moshiri think we can go, and how far can he take us? Only at that point IMO does the question of Usmanov formally joining forces with him at Everton become feasible, provided he has gone from Arsenal by then.

There may well be a period of several years where Usmanov has no formal association with any club. In that scenario, his involvement at Everton could take on more than a passing interest in our affairs.

But for the next few years at least, as I see it Everton is Moshiris diamond to polish. When that's done we are worth both selling and buying.

My take is the implied and indirect involvement is 100% in tune with the facilitation of the LCC Guarantee thing. Improving balance sheet, blah blah.

That enables BIG property players to get on board with all things Liverpool Waters related.

The absolute key to that development getting going is the Stadium; everything USM/Usmanov have done has that as their aim.

Its an obvious thing to say, but docks tend to get redeveloped just once. You provide the ammo to get in as a first mover, £££££.

I went and asked here is her response:
"Well he was born in Georgia, but was technically Russian as he was born during the Russian Empire, they gained their independence in 1918 but were then invaded not long after, then not long after that the Soviet Union was formed"
I think she knows her history pretty well, it seems, better than me any way.

It was kind of funny, she asked why are you talking about Stalin on a Soccer forum any way? I looked at her and said well, we talk about lots of historical stuff on here, it's really educational.

Usmanov's been clearly driven to take control of Arsenal for several years. If he's thwarted again this time we all hope he'll turn his attention northward.
However I strongly hope it doesn't take the several years you theorise as he's a morbidly obese 63 year old man. If he plans to head a premiership project, over a few years, I would think he surely has to start in the next one or two years.
