Usmanov

These lads play the long game and have plans and ideas we or nobody else knows about.
I think the purchase of the Liver building and Corestate involvement are a much bigger indication of things to come.
The only other person who to my recollection has ever expressed an interest in buying Arsenal is an African billionaire , and will he only buy 30%
These lads have long term plans that remain known to only s handful

Great post mate. As was your one about the bigger prize of Liverpool Docklands. The Consortium owning that Liver building is worse 50 billion. Serious wealthy people who are indirectly keen for not only the ground to be a success but that area of the City to grow. Great for us and the City as a by product of this.

Its a good line of thought, you see he NEVER has to ever declare an interest in Everton to maintain 1.

Hell his holding company already sponsors us, the USM tie in is key here, do we lose the ability to be sponsored by USM if Alioops ever does "come over", nothing ever needs to be written down, simply 2 old friends chatting away on a yacht somewhere.................

Nah you can sponsor the club you own mate, see city and a few others who do so.

There are two clear schools of thought from ITK’s about Usmanov. The first is that Usmanov is using Moshiri as a proxy and will be on board soon, if he’s not pulling the string already (more WRD)

The second (more associated with the Esk) is that Usmanov has no connection, will not come on board and is fully committed to Arsenal.

Both positions have good evidence to back them up. Likewise both can use any multitude of events to point too in order to justify such a position. The latest episode of Usmanov dominant position would be he wants to buy Arsenal. A alternative position that he is doing it as a last attempt to pave the way to leave is not without credence though.

My position has always been somewhere in between. I think Usmanov is weighing up his options. If Arsenal were to become available I am convinced he would go down that route. Yet if we make progress on and off the pitch and that option isn’t available to him then the chance to come on board further down the line may be something that interests him.

One thing I think we will want is a clear outlook on what Moshiri is looking to do in lieu of Usmanov. I strongly suspect we will have Spurs level funding and try to do things the Spurs way. Gradual building, looking for value, buying younger players, bringing through lads from the academy, having a coach that can develop young players. It’s not the glamour that would come with Usmanov at the helm, but is a long way ahead of where we were under Kenwright.
My own personal view is that he really does want Arsenal but the Yank either will stick to his guns or sell but make Usmanov pay through the nose. If, however, it gets to a point where Usmanov doesn't see his dream come to fruition them he may very well spit his dummy out and look to invest in another 'project'. He will, of course, need to offload his shares first of all but he may be willing to take a hit if it means extricaticating himself from the marriage from hell and then pump his load (!) Into a new relationship just to spite his old foe. Yanks and Ruskies do not mix well and Usmanov will not like the untenable position into which he has been placed.

The sentiment is largely correct, but Usmanov is actually not Russian, he's from Uzbekistan. ;)

To all intents and purposes he is mate, certainly from the pov of a ranch owning Yankee.

Try telling an yank that Stalin wasn't Russian, I did once...

Usmanov 100% does want arsenal mate, he also will never ever get it, and he must know that by now, sooner or later he will come on board, regardless of what some may think.

I suppose the only scanner in the works is if he offers way over value and Kroenke cuts his losses.

I think this is a fair summation. I suspect that he might be more open minded than that, in that I think he has probably sent Moshiri off to explore the possibility go growing Everton. If in 4-5 years we have a state of the art Stadium, in a thriving area of a growing Northern City, with investment of the Commonwealth games to come and a team competitive in the top 4-5 and a turnover comfortably the 7th best and closing in on the 6th above of the league they he may choose to twist as opposed to stick.

At the present time there is little in it for Usmanov to move on. Moshiri can fund us through transfers, we will see significant sponsorship investment and a stadium growing.

Personally think he sent Moshiri off to make sure Liverpool Waters got going via the new ground.

Thats his main interest. If, however, he gets fed up at Arsenal, he has a ready made replacement in situ.

He could have also sent him off to help his cause at Arsenal by showing how a club could be run.
