Usmanov

Can you imagine if Usmanov came in with huge Chinese investment as well!

Honestly don't think it'd make any difference - Usmanov by himself would elevate us over 4-5 years to the levels of Chelsea etc, but with a history behind us which none of the Cities/PSG's/Chelseas etc have/had.

Chinese investment i'd rather swerve in the actual club, if it was in Liverpool Waters - commercial ties etc then thats a different thing altogether ofc

Irrelevant. Unless he sells it.
Grandma: this year I decided to just give you £30 for your birthday.

Me: irrelevant. Unless I decide to use the £30 to buy something I want.

Only joking mate. But it is quite relevant that the shares have increased in value so much over the past 10 years. That's the main reason business people buy shares. Especially foreign business people. They want to pick shares that will increase in value so when they come to sell they will make money. Obviously this is not 100% right as Usmanov clearly wants influence in decision making at Arsenal (which it doesn't look like he'll ever get). I'm sure there is at least 1 person out there who would be willing to buy usmanov's arsenal shares. It'd be a relatively safe investment and usmanov probably wouldn't care who he sold to because of his relationship with Kronke. Whether he wants to sell or not is anyone's guess.

Er, not sure about that Roy.

For example if your house doubled in price in ten years, you could borrow against it without having to sell it

Wouldn't that be because a house is usually the biggest asset a person owns. Usmanov wouldn't borrow money based on his arsenal shares which represent probably less then 5% of his total wealth though. Or have I missed something here?

Usmanov is already as involved in Everton as he needs to be. Away from football Moshiri is still his right hand man and good friend, so you would imagine some discussion concerning Moshiris plans for our club would take place. Despite his great wealth financial restrictions mean he could only improve our situation incrementally anyway, exactly as Moshiri is doing. The funds and contacts Moshiri is accessing on our behalf would be exactly the same as if Usmanov were doing it.
As our position (we hope) improves this will reflect extremely well on Usmanov and greatly strengthen his hand in the struggle with Kroenke, which I believe was the intention from the beginning.
Put simply Usmanov is exactly where he needs and wants to be concerning Everton.

Depends - Kroenke is apparently set to borrow for financing a new stadium for his NFL team using Arsenal as a asset to guarantee the loan etc (at least thats a pretty strong rumour circulating in the US)
