Moyes here 11 seasons: £140M gross spend
Martinez here 3 seasons: £98M gross spend
Koeman here 1 season: £77M gross spend

Moyes and Martinez achieved, respectively, a CL spot and the club's best PL season points-wise; Koeman has lowered his handicap at Formby Hall golf club.

It's staggering: Koeman has spent in one season almost as much as Martinez did in his whole time here and more than half the cash spent by Moyes in his time here - well over a decade. By this time next season he'll have outspent Moyes.

Laughing boy better make sure he gets a bit more than the pat on the head 7th place trophy by then.

Once again you fail to take into account the context/environment all three managers are operating in.

77m gross spend in 2016 is nothing major in comparison to rival clubs.
Likewise, 98m gross spend between 2013-15 was minor.

Usamnov !!!

How anyone can say Moyes failed is beyond me. People slate him for the knife to a gunfight quote but that was the reality of what he was equipped with.

Usmanov will be our saviour. Our sweet, enormously overweight saviour.

He failed just as much as Bobby, they didnt win anything.

That kind of thing used to mean something to this club.

This is the thread about usamnov isn't it mate ?

With respect lads, this thread isnt about the success, failure, or net spend of former managers.

Its a ridiculous flight of fancy, (or is it?) that a bloke with a decent credit rating might be raiding his piggy bank.

An Off Topic warning would have pushed you into a temp ban, so lucky I have had a good day, and you might not have seen my post, tbf.

But please, not just Dave, this is not a thread about former managers.

Ta.

Ok mate just interested in hearing your view about it mate ?

I know the fella personally who tweeted it
I also know he sent me a DM on twitter about hearing of a Iranian based in Monaco who wanted to buy us in Oct 2015,5 months before Moshiri bought us
This fella has his contacts and has mentioned Usmanov coming on board for a while now
If he says he's spoken to someone who knows of this thing on Usmanovs yacht then I for one believe him
When I'm back in work I'll send you a screenshot of the tweet

Some people have vivid imaginations, USM providing the steel on the cheap and even doing the construction.

I must admit to not knowing many mining corporations doing construction work as a sideline.

Steel is used in many applications and not just the construction industry, I personally have no idea if USM service the construction market with the product required.

Seriously people, stop letting your imagination run wild.

In September 2014, the Otkrytie Arena, the home stadium of Spartak Moscow football club, was commissioned. The stadium capacity is 45,000. The stadium is included in the list of host facilities for the 2018 World Cup. Rolled steel items for the new stadium were supplied by Ural Steel.
