Usmanov

Some big questions will be asked by UEFA, when we qualify for Europa or champions league, and the predicted sponcership arrives off usmanov other company's

we definitely would have made sure this wouldn't become an issue. We're run by proper businessmen now, not kenwright remember.

And there lies the problem.
Who would pay tens of millions for shares and have absolutely NO influence?
And why would Kronke spend tens of millions for shares he doesnt need?

The entire premise of what esk says though (not listened to the podcast yet) but going of previous articles on the subject, is that anyone who buys shares wants or demands a influence, which is wrong, the amount of people who own large shareholdings in companies with no influence in massively higher than those who have stakes with influence attached.

Usmanov himself for example had a large chunk of facebook shares and various other companies in the past with no board influence, same goes for a huge amount of people who invest in companies for the long term profit and gain in share price - and Arsenal shares have continued to ris and ris over the past ten+ years with no sign of slowing down.

Why is the fact it is a football club - seemingly mean that for anyone wishing to buy a large chunk of shares - that they must have an influence or say ont he board - when it can actually just be a sound investment in a business and something which has a status attached to it in terms of PR fr the person/company?

Sure, as stated above, we may well get more sponsorship money from the Usmanov businesses. People saying he will be at Everton '1 million percent' is pure fantasy.

Actually the same bloke saying he will not come on board and become a shareholder/owner in the club (and he has stuck by that point throughout) also was also previously pretty adamant that we would see no forms of investement from Usmanov held companies (or at least it would be almost impossible for him to do so if he even wanted) - he was wrong about that

This is my point to @The Esk as there will always be someone willing to buy into the Premier league and a top club like Arsenal. 30% is still quite a lot!

I'm sure the Arsenal fans will now start to turn against Wenger and Kroenke, who might want to sell up his shares to Usmanov.

Throw in the China/Middle east market would cream themselves over the marketing possibilities having such a huge stake in Arsenal would give them, basically a huge foot in the door opportunity for that.

Also if Kroenke as stated wishes to leave the club to his family eventually as some legacy thing, then leaving a 100% stake split would pretty much ensure family ownership going forward, splitting a 64-67% stake amongst them would leave the possibility that the Usmanov percentage would wind up as the single largest sharehodler with the possibility of the club going outside of being owned by kroenkes beneficiaries (along side added benefits like not having to answer to anyone with full ownership etc)

the situation is 100% not as black and white as @The Esk opinion on the matter is, fair play, he never states it is anythign else other than his opinion and he is willing to argue the toss about it.

Havent got the figures but even without them you can imagine how stable investing in soemthing like Arsenal would be as a long term investment, people invest in far far more riskier propositions than this all the time, and with Usmanovs huge amount of contacts - i just dont believe he would find any great difficulty in locating someone willing to free him up by purchasing those shares

Esk seems to put a huge amount of his eggs in the basket of - why didnt Usmanov come instead of Moshiri if thats the long term goal, without facing up to the fact that Moshiri IS a Usmanov employee (although a very wealthy one) and is probably the person he trusts most in the world, Usmanov comihng in would draw far more attention and wouldnt actually benefit us initially over Moshiri - the same financial scutiny would apply - possibly even moreso given his wealth, would moshiri be able to then sponsor us - it would look exceptionally odd wouldnt it, whereas this way around Usmanov can basically help out financially whilst given it the vaneer of being legitimate sponsorship etc

To use a wierd anaology - what general goes into a battle first, rather than sending in his men to prepare the way

Does anybody have any knowledge of how long Usmanov is a shareholder at Arsenal and at what price he bought his shareholding (average).

It may well be that he purchased at least some of those shares at a far smaller price than they are fetching today.

However, we are looking so closely at Moshiri/Usmanov whereas maybe we should be looking around at other wealthy Moshiri associates .

To answer esk's comment in the podcast of why Usmanov hasn't sold his shares instead of Moshiri is pretty easy in my simplistic mind. So not sure what all this asking people across the globe is all about!

I'm virtually certain that Usmanov would rather take the reins at Arsenal than us but that doesn't look likely, however the natives are getting restless and Kroenke could face a backlash fairly soon if he doesn't put a hefty cash injection into the system.

Meanwhile they can see the USM cash flowing into us which should be going towards Arsenal. That should create a perfect storm at some point and I think Usmanov would be happy leading a revolution if Kroenke waivers a little.

So i see this as a way of lighting the powder keg and seeing what happens. If that fails then I can see Usmanov being the driving force at Everton whether he keeps his Arsenal shares or not.

i think im right in saying USM have 3 patners (Usmanov, moshiri and streshinski). there would be nothing wrong in Usmanov selling or handing over his 30% of Arsenal to the 3rd partner strenshinski, that would maintain his place as a major shareholder at Arsenal and all the profits that come with it (via strenshinski), whilst enabling him to come on board with Moshiri at Everton.

Alternatively he could sell out completley to a chinese consortium, who would buy the shares and align themselves with Kroenke, as to gain a little bit of say on the board. unlikely but still very much an option.

however the recent unrest at Arsenal, (typical Eveerton this) could create a power vacum, if the fans force Wenger and most likely the board out or to go through a radical change, which does seem to be gathering momentum, it will play right in to Usmanov's arms, and he could end up as the majority shareholder come the end of the season, ending all interest in Everton at the same time.

If Usmanov even gets the slightest hint that Kroneke is done at Arsenal then he will play it out, knowing that he may have his one and only chance of full ownership of the club.

lets hope Kroenke plays hardball and that Wenger signs up for another 2 years. If this happens then im quietly confident Usmanov will come and back us. it all depends on the Wenger situation.

Interesting idea mate, IMO though unlikely to be even a idea for Usmanov that scenario though.

Kroenke honestly doesn't care a jot about fan opinion etc, he won't feel any of the backlash whatsoever and is basically permanently based in the USA, Kroenke is a bloke who bought and moved a NFL team and you can imagine the hate he got from that from the city that lost there franchise in the NFL.

100% certain that Kroenke will never leave Arsenal and he would never ever let Usmanov achieve power there.

My own opinion, and that's all it is, is that once the stadium gets the green light and we see progression in other areas, commercial etc, then Usmanov will manoeuvre himself to leave Arsenal and quickly.

thats my thoughts entirely. why would he leave a mioney making team in Arsenal , and come to us right now. he needs real assurances about our waterfront stadium, as this is where eventually all the pfrofit will lie.

if our waterfront stadium is a non-starter and we are left with redeveloping goodison or a retail park stadium then we are no longer worth properly investing in as the return will be much much lower in the long run.
