How very Everton has this whole takeover been. 49% wealthy like, with an option on the rest, rich as fork but just outside of the Euro places of richness with just enough Russian innuendo and stadium promises to keep it interesting. JUST EFFing BUY US FFS, Honestly, we've had more false dawns than Bill Murray.
there are wild differences but some put it as few as 10 years and others as much as 10,000(by the book standard apparently).

We've got a few more false dawns to match up to Bill Murray.

Does kroenke even want to buy though? Hes already in charge. No reason for him to spend a ton of his own money to free up Usmanov to move elsewhere and compete against arsenal

He dosent need them but how hard would it be for him to sell them to someone else? Especially right now, not so much the going out the CL but it's also possible they might not even be in it next year, will that drop the value of his shares?

And there lies the problem.
Who would pay tens of millions for shares and have absolutely NO influence?
And why would Kronke spend tens of millions for shares he doesnt need?

Couple of reasons really. Arsenal have been a sound investment up to now, bit of a gamble but if the premier league rights keep going up like they have been then it could well be worth a punt. Secondly just because Kroenke hasn't invited Usmanov on to the board doesn't mean he would block someone else who may be more aligned to how Stan wants to run the club.

My own opinion is that it may a appeal to a nouveau rich Chinese businessman to raise his profile/influence in the west.

When it comes to Kroenke, its his way or no way. Even if usmanov managed to find someone other than Kroenke to take his shares, Kroenke will still just do whatever he pleases.

I agree totally, that's why I pointed out that to allow someone on to the board they would have to be aligned with Kroenke's vision. My point is just because Usmanov is not on the board doesn't mean someone else can't be. In all purposes they would still be puppets of Kroenke, but if their outlook's the same it wouldn't feel that way.

Usmanov is too much of a threat, he is also a man used to getting his own way and has openly criticised how Kroenke runs Arsenal, add to the fact he has a bigger personal wealth you could see why Stan doesn't want him on the board.
