...they once were...not so much now. Mind you, your comparative is not incorrect...but it's a pretty low 'respect' bar you've set.

Outside of the UK they are still much revered as being the bastion of truth and are truly respected as a source of information. Domestically and politically they are somewhat below that level in popular opinion. But when internationally you have Fox, Bloomberg and CNN, the competition is not that high.

Another anti BBC? Bbc is the next brexit. Farage is on the case.
It’s not not anti British. It just what the media owned by foreign nationals tell you to think, so that they can get rid of it, hold all the power and use that weight to put pressure on the politics.
Wanting foreign owned news corporations, having power over our politicians... now that is anti British.
all the bbc is run this country down, go right back to when world cup was awarded to qutar, they slagged FIFA off, they should be held to account for the millions they waste, if they are confident they are that good, let them go subscription and see how many sign up

Yes, I would not disagree with that last point...compared with that lot you mention, BBC is the cleanest shirt at the laundromat....
But "revered as being the bastion of truth"?...hmmm...maybe by the underinformed...but not by me

Yeah mate. Fancy pointing out wrong doing by fifa. Jeez

I get your point. I don't like the BBC either, but I can understand that to those in power it plays a really important role.
The England bid was a joke, they sent all and sundry over to win/bribe votes Putin was nowhere near and then they cried foul play when they didn’t win. At least the Dutch/Belgians didn’t fall for all of Fifas demands. Our hypocrisy knows no bounds
