Uninspiring Everton....

Moyes' persistence in a right flank of Hibbert and Osman is a bit soul destroying.

We'll get it together soon though - just a shame we can never have our store in order before October.

I think the team look souless. Fulham looked sharper, fought for every ball. We stood off a lot.

That and there were some awfully silly things that a confident side just wouldnt do - ie Yobo panicing for no reason and performing a sliced scissor kick in his own box. And Pienaar falling over after a sweet ball from Fellaini - the only through ball I might add in the entire game from us.

If you look at the fixture list from a side that came 5th and were in the final of the FA Cup you'd think that the 1st 2-3months are filled with winnable games -

Everton V Arsenal
Burnley V Everton
Everton V Wigan
Fulham v Everton
Everton v Blackburn
Hull v Everton
Portsmouth v Everton
Everton v Stoke
Everton v Wolverhampton
Bolton v Everton
Everton v Aston Villa
West Ham v Everton

Now we scraped a win against Wigan and have lost against Arsenal, Burnley, and Fulham. Looking at the next game at Blackburn, I cant see a win, same with Stoke, Bolton, Villa, even West Ham games unless something seriously changes.

Moyes is pretty useless reacting when we're chasing a game - or even one where we're on level terms and the momentum has turned against us. Mitigating factors for me about the season start, though, is that we brought in players late again and, as last season, that doesn't help us to find our feet. That lack of preparedness in sorting out his best team wasn't down to Moyes. I also think he was robbed of looking at that Coleman lad due to a freak injury and that might have given him an option of starting the season with a different right sided combination. The other thing is that only he knows how match fit the likes of Heitinga and Bilyaletdinov are. Getting on the Everton bench is by no means a demonstration of fitness with our squad numbers! Heitinga looked off the pace when he came on I thought.

Very frustrating, really f*cks me off sometimes.

We have got beat by two massively underwhelming teams in Burnley and Fulham who were both there for the taking. And it boils down to his persistance is [Poor language removed]/off form players. He took Osman off against Wigan yet starts him today with options at his fingertips? Same for Jo, he done absolutely nothing all game but only gets subbed when were in trouble.

For f sake, sort out that right hand side next game and ditch the two defensive midfielders, it means we have seven defensive players on the pitch. The days of moody scraped 1-0s are four years gone by, its time to move on.

Massive opportunity missed to start this season well.

Lets see what he does against Blackburn.

There's no excuse now not to change the team and play the damn players he bought in and rop the ones who haven't been performing.

According to the game today he doesn't know what to do when were winning either

True but not massively. He made some good tackles and didnt give the ball away when he got it. He just looked rusty which will happen if you havent played in about a 3 weeks or so.

But what about Bily? Played have a season in Russia didnt he? And for Russia in the international break? He not fit to play?

Moyes is stubborn. Adding to his stubborness is the fact that most of the time he's right. Last season there were plenty of examples were changes were crying out to be done, he never did them and we got the win. But there were also times that backfired.

But there was even Gosling on the bench if Bily wasnt fit. Vaughan was there unless he was injured.

He's got options and he's not using them which is strange.

Take this as a rant at Moyes all you want but seriously....

Upon seeing the team out today -

Howard
Hibbert Yobo Distin Baines
Osman Rodwell Neville Pienaar
Cahill
Jo

Did anyone think that was an inspired team that could create chances and be able to have more than just a plan A.

I thought that team played very well up to half time

Oh, I agree. Semi-comfortable I thought.

But the point was Fulham sussed our game and came out in the 2nd half to which we had no reply, even though we had £40million worth of talent on the bench.

The old tactics from last season arent working. Moyes needs new ones. He's got the players to do that.

But does he know his best team? I dont think he does at the moment and needs to start changing it up.

I fail to see what Moyes sees in Osman, he pops up with the one good moment every 5 matches and plays utter [Poor language removed] for the rest of em.

Why Billy is not being used is beyond me, maybe to give him a rest? Half a season along with Internationals does take its toll and that's just in some crack-pot Russian League, the Prem is a totally different thing. Requires far more stamina and pace.

There needs to be a lot of work done on the training pitch - the team looked like strangers today, some players arent winning their battles and the defence needs to learn how to work as a unit quickly - team are making far to many chances against us. The midfeild needs attention i dont care if it isnt preety it needs grit and solidity teams are cutting through like a knife through butter. Fellaini needs to start, Rodwell as much as i think hes a phenomnal talent needs to dip out of the team at the mo, hes not influenceing the game enough.

We need to win our battles, become difficult to break down and give ourselves the confidence and platform to go on from there.

Key thing in the above games is that our quality shines through but to do that we must match those teams in our individual battles and earn our right to play.

The most frustrating thing is we struggle to do the basics, the majority of our players aren't comfortable on the ball. They don't even want it and that is even more frustrating for me.

'Technically' we are still a very average side with Arteta out and that will be exposed in Europe when teams play keep ball. Even Sigma exposed it until we scored a couple of wonder goals.

I think it's a must that either Osman or Pienaar move centrally or we introduce Bilyaletdinov as soon as possible and hope he's a quality player. Having two quality wide players might make up for our lack of a midfield.

Last season when Arteta got injured it was easier but we had momentum. Now that's not the case and the midfield is being exposed.

One thing I noticed was Rodwell was playing alot further forward, which doesn't suit him at all. And whilst his positioning does need work this wasn't the case today, he'd been instructed to play closer to Cahill with Neville sitting in there. Again, with our limited midfield we need two infront off the back four, two players who are willing to pick up the ball.

Baffling tactics by Moyes, especially when he had options today. But it's not just him, players need to take responsibility.

Oh Please, you're really overreacting. Heitinga is new into the country nethermind the club, the same counts with Diniyar Billy. Whats so different to last season? Lescott's left for £24m which I feel thats daylight robbery, considering hes no-where near Phil Jagielkas quality. We've brought in two class players that I know that'll work wonders in the club, one dimensional? Like hell, I know that we are capable of Long-Ball, on the ground, around the wings and Physical football. I know we've had a pretty bad start to the season but seriously, come on. Jagielka, Yakubu and Arteta coming back will change the squad completley, more fluid for a start.

Cream allways rises to the top.

Just got in from Craven Cottage and Moyes HAS to take full responsibilty for that. Fulham are/were [Poor language removed] and were there for the taking. So why, oh why did he replace Jo(who was struggling a bit but holding his own) with Fella(a lazy arse midfielder)? All he had to do was keep Jo on and throw Vaughan or Yak on with him and take off the yet again ineffective Osman so we could have pushed up and put pressure on. But no, he asks Cahill & Fella to push up, bnoth have no pace and are NEVER gonna beat Hangeland in the air....we sit back, they attack and you could see the Fulham goal coming a mile off!

SOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooo bored of this bullshit 451! You'd've thought he'd learnt his lesson after Beattie and Johnson :@
