Home form

Feel this deserves a thread of its own rather than the stadium thread.

Only 4 wins from 10 games at home and some absolute dross- yesterday, spurs and Newcastle in particular. Is this Moyes tactics, adapting to the new ground or a bit of both? Personally feel Moyes tactics and team selections are a large part of the problem.

We've conceded 24 in 20 games - 46% of our conceded goals coming in just 3 games - 4 vs Brentford, 4 Newcastle and 3 Spurs. All at home.
The flip side of this is conceding 13 goals in 17 games which is really positive

I always thought that the move to the new stadium would bring with it an adjustment period. Look at other teams that have done it.

Only 4 losses from 10 as well though.

Indeed, but the thread is about home form.

I always thought that the move to the new stadium would bring with it an adjustment period. Look at other teams that have done it.

We had atrocious home form at Goodison the last few seasons. Last season we had to win on the final day to avoid the worst home record in 133 years there.

So I don't buy the whole new stadium settling in period. I think its lazy.

Always capitulate in recent seasons, even at Goodison, once we conceded. Our home form there was garbage.

Got nothing to do with BMD - Moyes tactics and the players he’s selected haven’t done nearly enough to get the fans going and unleash the potential of our majestic new home. It’s not fired yet, not even close.

He’s far too defensive, negative and safety first/kitap1 at home - it pays off away from home and often works for us.

It seems a much bigger pitch than Goodison, feel we’re struggling with the players and the system.

Slow centre backs, the two wide midfielders stuck to the sides of the pitch and isolated with McNeil lost high up the pitch leaving massive gaps in the middle.

Think it would be a different story with Branthwaite and JOB centre backs, two pacey full backs and more of a 433 with three central midfielders filling up the middle of the pitch.
