Underrated 11

Yet he scored 4 goals in Europe despite being used mainly as a sub for the last 10 minutes or so. Looking at those stats you'd say he did bloody well.

Which are included in his career of 10 in 68 appearances which looking at isn't good reading at all.

Anichebe starting is useless im afraid to say, there's not point in us doing it and when hes not at that point where he can start games for us after 3 years now is it of breaking through then he is hardly underrated.

Who says he 'walks on water'? I don't think he's ready to play week in week out yet, but under the right manager (Moyes), I only see him getting better and developing into such a player.

Really pisses me off people slagging off our players, sure there's one or two who I don't rate all that highly, but I still support them and want them to do well. I just can't understand some people's attitudes.

Slagging him off? I disagree that hes underrated and have my views on him, if he was good enough i'd say so but quite frankly he isn't.

If hes not ready now, when will he ever be? Hes 20 or getting onto 20 and broke onto the scene around about 3 years ago and has featured heavily for us, but hes still not "quite there" so it says alot about his ability.

What on earth is your argument here?

You don't rate him yet you have a problem with me saying he's underrated?! Well you for one clearly don't rate him, and therefore in my eyes (seeing as I think he's a decent player), he is being underrated.

He's simply not good enough, his premier league record speaks for itself, Yes hes good in europe as a sub because they cant handle his strength but in the Premier League he has been completley found out.

27 appearances in the Prem last season and 1 goal against Wigan, 68 appearances in total with 10 goals, they arn't the stats of an underrated player.

He has just turned 20 years old, he nowhere near the finished article.

About 20 of those 68 appearences have actually been starts. How I see it is as a 5th choice striker which he has been for the last two seasons he's chipped in with 5 goals a season, not bad at all.

He doesn't start week in week out, he's expected to come in every 10 games and he'e expected to play against experienced centre backs who are fitter and in better condition than him. It's not easy at all, especially not for someone who obviously struggles with fitness.

I don't see why people have an agenda against him, the lads still learning and he's going to have his ups and downs. He's never going to be amazing nor is he going to be a prollific goalscorer but he does have the potential to be a handful and a decent premier League striker.

You say hes underrated, I've seen many who think hes still going to be some superstar, whilst i don't rate him, therefore hes overrated to me.

Don't get me wrong hes done well in Europe but i just dont ever think he will make it as a Premier League player, I'd love him to prove me wrong but i find him frustrating now, hes 3rd choice at the moment and when at times last season he was 1st or 2nd choice i just didnt think he was ready still to be in that position and i wouldn't have got rid of McFadden or Johnson before Anichebe.

Spot on mate (y)

Yes, I understand. It's opinions. You seemed to take offence at me saying he's underrated though,

So how does not being ready for the first team make him a bad player?

Rooney wasn't ready to start week in week out when he first came on the scene, neither was Vaughan, Osman etc. It takes players years to reach their potential, Anichebe is still relatively young and can still progress a long way from where he's at now.

He's got time on his hands, lots of time to improve and work on his deciencies as a player. I'm confident he'll succeed here, he'll become a decent Premier League striker and a useful one.

Alot of fans are like that with young players, Villa fans are exactly the same with Agbonlahor. It's about giving them time and understanding that they are going to have there ups and downs as players, they are learning there trade.

What you also have to realise is Victor is a very late bloomer, he was about to be let go from the reserves and in a few months he developed immensely. He's definatly a player that needs time.

Rooney was good enough. Without a doubt. Yes he was young but he had the ability to start week in, week out.

Anichebe is 19 and has the touch of a rapist.

I'll support every player that plays for Everton. But that doesn't mean i can't point out his weaknesses.

and dont other center backs know it.

i was screaming for him to crack harewood.

finesse vs brutality.

cannot have all of one and none of the other.

that is why hes still on our books. he needs to get on the linvoy primus diet and put on two stone across the shoulders.
