I nearly choked when i heard Cahill was starting, certainly didnt expect that lol and when they read out the team sheet over the phone i assumed with Anichebe it would be 4-4-2 then later on saw he was a right winger and looked impressive there.

Hes a big strong lad, i was impressed by his pace today and his engine to be honest. Great instincts for his goal as well finding that fraction of space.

I think he has improved dramaticly over the past year and the international expierence and oylimpics seem to have done a lot for him. It has to be said to he didnt get much of a preseason.

Is Ossie injured? With Pienaar and Saha to come back we are looking strong at the moment, If we can stay in the Uefa and Carling untill we get some players fit and develop a sense of cohesian ill be happy.

Yes he is, hopefully he's back for Liege.

On Vic, I've said all along his problem is his fitness, he gets tired easy. When he gets tired around the 60 minute mark he gets sloppy which makes people say things like his touch is [Poor language removed] and he's a nothing player.

Technically he's come on alot, you could see that today. He was composed, he kept the ball well and he passed it well. I said last season his hold up play had improved alot, alot of people disagreed. He only starts getting sloppy when he gets tired.

To be fair. Anichebe played well today.

Looked good on the ball for once and didn't have the touch of a rapist.

How much room did their defence want to give Victor for his goal :|

part of that turmoil was caused by one phillip neville making a feint up the right overlap.

coupled with a bit of 'silly bollocks' by victor in terms of standing offside up till the final moment of the kick being taken.

without the two man wall arteta had the space to find vic.

that it split and victor became active almost at the same time meant the stoke defence didnt have time to react.

also worthy of note - cahill following in at the back post - now i know for absolute certain had he got a touch on the ball even lesser than victors mere nanometers from the line he would have claimed it. rather amusing seeing tim bust a gut in such fashion.
