and dont other center backs know it.

i was screaming for him to crack harewood.

finesse vs brutality.

cannot have all of one and none of the other.

that is why hes still on our books. he needs to get on the linvoy primus diet and put on two stone across the shoulders.

That's pretty much how good he will turn out.

I don't mind him to be honest with you, he's just a frustrating player.

Rooney was good enough. Without a doubt. Yes he was young but he had the ability to start week in, week out.

Anichebe is 19 and has the touch of a rapist.

Andy Johnson is 27, he also had the touch of a rapist yet he's loved by alot of Evertonians.

Rooney was never anywhere near as effective when he started games, he used to get tired after an hour of football.

dunno about you, but i often reveled in duncan ferguson goiving some [Poor language removed] to opposition CB's. It used to cause me a smile to see they were worse for wear. that Duncan throttled a few players, that Duncan fought a few player, that Duncan went out and purposefully hurt a few players makes me grateful.

I want castillo and fellaini to become assassins.

its that simple for me.

Castillo will absolutely end Gerrard.

I'm very split on Duncan, some things I loved about him but some things I hated. He was a very very frustrating player.

which player isnt?

ask yourself, which player puts on a world class spectacle every game.

then ask yourself, what he was expected to work with.

I'm not asking for world class, all I ever asked for was consistency.

Dunc was a very talented player, both technically and physically and to be honest he threw it all away. As much as I loved him there's no doubting he was a waster.

Duncan will always be my hero. Complete and utter legend to me.

Only thing i had to cling onto in the terrible pre-Moyes era.

yeah, lets see yakubu turn up every week in a boro side fighting relegation every season.

there is waster and there is player that has ambition but is choked by the detritus around him (in player terms) and the malais (sp) at board level.

can you imagine duncan in our first eleven now?

I respect that, in many ways he was to me aswell.

But looking at it with an open mind he dissapointed me alot of times, I personally thought he had fantastic natural ability yet he never fullfilled it and on the pitch he let us down alot.

Yakubu's goals to game record was good for Boro even when they where struggling. He also did it at Portsmouth, his record speaks for itself. I'd have Yakubu over Duncan every day of the week to be honest, far more consistent player who's proved himself time and time again. In terms of natural ability there isn't much difference, in terms of impact and consistency the gap is massive.

Duncan let us down alot and his temper especially got in the way of a good talent. Punching, choking and fighting people may have been entertaining for alot of fans but it didn't help at all, not Everton or Duncan Ferguson as an individual.

The service wasn't always great I agree but Duncan himself alot of the time was as bad as anyone and he had flaws in his game that people never mention. His inibility to direct his flick ons to his team mates, his lack of movement when midfielders had the ball. At times the long ball was the only answer because he was static.

Duncan Ferguson is a very interesting topic, I loved him but now I look at it with an open mind. He lived off his cult status alot of the time without ever giving the fans anything back.

People talk about his passion but to be honest it was a myth alot of the time. He was passionate for about 4 games a season, usually the big games. There where times where he didn't look arsed, he looked like he didn't want to be on the pitch. I've heard from a few people that Dunc wasn't in love with the game, he didn't love being a footballer. He didn't have the hunger to succeed and use his undoubted talent to the max.

As I said just my opinion, I know alot of people will disagree.

Sorry boys, but duncan was never that good. Great couple of season at first, but after that......

I did love him thou. You just could'nt take the piss with him an CB new it!!

Dunc was and always will be a legend, i think his game suffered when he got locked up, he got a HUGE chip on his shoulder, rightly so IMO, but i think it stopped him from being a much better player, but you have to take into account the utter crapness he was playing with and Walter Smith never really played to his strengths, which should have been wingers pinging crosses into the box for 90mins, but it was mainly HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOF. Look how well he looked when we had some1 who could cross a ball like Hinchcliffe.

So how does not being ready for the first team make him a bad player?

Rooney wasn't ready to start week in week out when he first came on the scene, neither was Vaughan, Osman etc. It takes players years to reach their potential, Anichebe is still relatively young and can still progress a long way from where he's at now.

Rooney was 16, Victor is 20.
