I think The Telegraph reported our interest at the time, whether there was any actual meeting or not I don't know.

As I recall it, we went in for him after Koeman knocked us back initially, then Emery went to PSG, and we went back for Koeman.

He might wish to go to Sociedad being Basque himself, but I still think we'd have a decent chance if interested.

He has managed in France and Russia, so not averse to new experiences, and would surely be at least interested in hearing us out.
