I am increasingly of the opinion that the Foreign Secretary should not be a political appointee, pretty much every single one of them has been garbage. Appoint a non-partisan professional who can provide long term stability and continuity.

No. Someone who doesn't shoot off without proper information. Surely the civil service involved with her office must be somewhat capable as there's plenty who have performed the role better.
All that was required if asked was that there were unsubstantiated rumours and that they were being investigated and that if true would require a serious response. And actually investigate and work out what that response would be if true.
We don't want fake claims muddying the situation. Unfortunately there are too many atrocities coming to light - evidently not bad enough to get directly involved in - without giving Russia opportunity to point out unfounded allegations against them for propaganda purposes. Because they will cry foul for any minor transgression whilst they commit war crimes make no mistake and use that back home to fuel support for this invasion.
I expect the highest standards from the UK as much as I expect the worst from Russia.

Ah yes, Liz Truss who has thus far contested Russian sovereignty over Rostov and Voronezh, told UK nationals to go and fight in Ukraine and made comments resulting in the Russian's dialling up their state of readiness for Nuclear War. She might have access to the intel but reading it, understanding it and knowing what to do with it are a different matter. Not really a safe pair of hands on the wheel, is she?

It’s a disgrace that we have people in charge in this situation who are clearly not qualified.
Oh I agree - she’s an idiot, but she has a very experienced team around her, so I’m unsure why she felt the need to go onto twitter and start bumping her gums.
Her post is not inflammatory by itself but as you say she needs to keep it shut until such time as the claim is able to be verified.
