Unfortunately within a few days time it looks likely that Ukraine will get a significantly worse deal when trying to negotiate a settlement. If they go beyond that point and do have to surrender they may lose a chunk of the territory along the black sea and likely a puppet regime will be installed. :(

I hope I am wrong.

I doubt he will take Kyiv. I read that Russia needed 2.5 million men to take Berlin, it doesn’t look like he currently has the numbers. His hardware is being decimated, his troops will need to be rotated at some point, so unless he commits another couple of hundred thousand soldiers and equipment, he will struggle...every day that Kyiv holds out gives them hope. It does also raise the issue of what is the purpose of the UN or it’s security council in allowing this to continue……

I am in no way suggesting it is likely that he will use them, but I am suggesting that if NATO intervene, it is a possibility that he will use them.
There is only one man who knows with 100% certainty whether he would or not.
He won't use them unless he wants Russia wiped out. The instant U.S. detects incoming ICBMs hundreds will be on there way back ,destination Moscow and all major Russian cities.

Don’t be wrong, there’ll be many civil causalities, but my understanding is that a retaliatory strike would primarily focus on their C&C and wider military.

There’d be strikes on key infrastructure too. However, the obliteration of cities wouldn’t be their modus operandi although it may as well occur.

Even a relatively small nuclear exchange between two states would be catastrophic for the planet. It is one of the reasons we need to find a way to not allow crackpots to get into power. There was an article about the threat between India and Pakistan not long ago that considered the global implications and it was thoroughly grim.

Here is the article :(

It'd be Russia taking the Ukrainian position. But hopefully without the attacking civilians or committing war crimes and just the destruction of their military.

If history has taught us anything, invading Russia is normally a bad idea. They'd burn their own house to deny their enemy it, which doesn't forebode well for Ukraine.
I think people were referring to a conflict where Russia attacks NATO without nuclear weapons rather than NATO attempting to invade Russia/

From this showing alongside NATO's capabilities, their chances would be slim at best. NATO's air power, PGMs, available armour and training would outclass them.

Well, this could be the start of the end.

Russian deputy foreign minister Sergei Ryabkov has told Russian state television that “pumping up [Ukraine] with weapons from a whole range of countries” would “turn these convoys into legitimate military targets”. Experts have expressed fears that such an attack could escalate the war. Shelling has continued overnight in several Ukrainian cities, with Russian forces 25km from the centre of Kyiv, according to the British military.

I mean if they attack convoys in Ukrainian territory being operated by Ukrainians then I think that's fair game. If they start attacking convoys in NATO territory or attacking ships/planes being used by NATO personnel then its a different matter.
Aye, the mention of targeting ships was the point of threat.
