Talking about recruitment, here is Putins grandnephew living it up, travelling around Europe whilst his great uncle sends other Russian lads to be slaughtered in heartless meatgrinder assaults in a foreign land. If you were a parent of one of the hundreds of thousands of Russians sent to their deaths or losing limbs for little Vlad you'd be within your rights to be wanting to see his day in the Hague.

The Kursk incursion hastened this. An almighty blunder that's cost another near 8,000 Ukrainian soldier's their lives.

After this war Zelensky and his generals will face a reckoning. Their cretinous decision making and failure to move toward diplomacy has shattered a generation of Ukrainians and led to a scale of destruction that will take decades to recovery from, if ever.

Being a handful of KMs away and taking the city are 2 very different things, once things get into urban fighting the attacking side can expect to loose many thousands of men and given the way Russia takes cities maybe even hundreds of thousands, with their attitude of every Russian shot means a bullet less for Ukraine..
I guess on the bright side a Russian war with NATO is not so much of a worry now It bould be akin to a training exorcise for NATO aircraft.

Russia cannot win here. They now face the reality of hundreds of thousands of military trained Ukrainians. Even if the Ukraine gov said we'll cede the occupied regions it is reasonable to say Russia would face a paramilitary resistance from that point forward.

Well around 3.5 - 5 million Ukrainians died in a state enforced famine in the Holodomor in which eventually the population was forced to eat dogs, rats, tree bark and eventually cannibalise their own children.
