The US won't end support for Ukraine... no US president or politicians will want their name remembered forever in American history as people who bowed to Russian aggression.

Or remembered as the peace broker who stopped funding foreign wars. He did a deal to get the US out of Afghanistan without that much kickback.
I also would flip a coin to see what position Trump actually takes if he gets back in. He is highly unpredictable even though it looks like he'd be willing to put Ukraine into a position where they have to do a deal.

I'd argue that they are there now. Any delay in getting a deal will result in thousands dead and injured on both sides for a slow but steady Russian grab of further lands.
Unless Russia make a huge gamble like try and cross the Dnieper after the fall of Krynky and it backfires then I don't see how Ukraine reverses the Russian advances.

It's not going to be easy negotiation.. Ukraine will have to give up lands and Russia will have to allow Ukraine to be aligned with NATO maybe not as a full member but certainly security guarantees from NATO.

Conversely, Russia will want to return to the previous international relations. Probably made acceptable by western allies getting Russian funding to replace damaged infrastructure.
