So, erm, a russian victory then, just in less words? The West don't want Russia defeated and they don't want Ukraine to win.
As it stands nobody can win. Putin wanted to walk into Kiev and turn Ukraine into another Belarus that's not happening. Ukraine want to kick Russia out of the Donbass and then Crimea that's not happening. Political solution is the only sensible option. Unless you have shares in the armaments industry, funeral directors or a company that makes prosthetic limbs. So, erm, a russian victory then, just in less words?
Since no one bothered to reply I will reply my own Q.What is the situation in Chasiv Yar?

As of yesterday, the canal district in Chasiv Yar has been a bloodbath.
The city proper is still in Ukrainian hands.

Looks like Ukraine is ready to end the Russian offensive in Kharkiv oblast and destroy the Ru 72nd.
They have committed the 101st Guards Bde of the general staff on the left flank of Vovchansk. This unit is the elite of Ukraines army and their commitment to this battle signals the intention to crush the trapped Russians and end their summer offensive.
You sound rather down about it tbhThe Russians weren't trying to take Kharkiv. They were trying to create a buffer zone and lay fortifications / defences / prevent attacks on Russian territory. The more significant war theatre remains Donetsk.
