You’ve consistently belittled the chances and legitimacy of the Ukranian people to defend their country. Every time there’s any news that suggests Russia is gaining the upper hand, you rush in and don’t even try and hide your glee.

Here's just a few of your greatest hits from the past few days:

“Russian troops openly walking around Kiev now” - Lie

“Yes I would rather have that than encouragement from the current Kiev government for ordinary people to go on suicide missions” - God forbid they defend their families from a fascist

“mercifully this looks like it will be over soon” - That went well

“Those who claim Ukraine will put up partisan resistance are wrong” - HAHA

“its a total take-over. this will be over in a week. thankfully.” - Thankfully. People’s liberty taken from them by force, “Thankfully”.

“I’m not going to sit here and encourage some Tin Pot country to put world war on the agenda.”

“Honestly, for the sake of lives I hope Ukrainians lay down their weapons because no one wants to see huge loss of life. Putin is clearly hell bent on his course of action. The wests response is a joke and tantamount to telling Ukrainians to give up hope.”

I take no pleasure in doing this, but I think it’s right to shine a light on fascist sympathisers wherever they rear their ugly heads.

What the hell, they are saying he is now threatening Sweden and Finland for wanting to join NATO!?!?!? I knew he was a little crazy, but are we sure he doesn’t have dementia or something?

Putin must be more deranged than usual mad if he thinks he is going to try to attack Sweden and Finland. They have enough military power to make him regret this decision.

Regarding his last point, if there is a way out that doesn't make them look foolish (and if that is what he is looking for) it should be beholden on the West to find it and offer it now.

I can't think of what it might entail, perhaps some kind of alliance allied to an alliance ... maybe Norway / Sweden / Finland / Russia / Ukraine cooperating with each other on the one hand but also with NATO and an agreement that each (NATO and the new alliance) would support the other in defensive matters only? Obviously if he keeps up with the crazy then the other four could kick him out and then be protected by the rest, it wouldn't be as threatening as NATO expansion would be and it might allow some calmness to return.

The economic / social aspects (which I do think are what this really is about) could then be explored and dealt with - this might be easier to be done with Norway / Sweden / Finland rather than the EU as the societies they've built are probably better examples than the likes of us or the yanks.

I'm watching BBC News and Civilians in Dnipro are literally making molotov cocktails behind the news reporter.

They are determined to defend their land, their city and each other.

This is happening in Europe! We need to send them everything possible to help.

Body armour, bullets, medicine, and in particular, thousands more anti-armour NLAWs.

This is good versus evil. Glory to Ukraine.

Feel sorry for the Russian soldiers in this too. Yes some will love killing Ukranians and believe in Putin 100%, however some will also just be men (probably boys) packed off to die in his name. So many normal Russian families losing loved ones.

I have read some reports that some Russian soldiers have been turning themselves in, they say they are hungry and they want to get rid off their uniforms and stop fighting.
