Just like Nuland, who wanted to install their man in Kiev, after the US suported Maidan coup, the US Empire are putting forward Arestovich.

The war is an encumbrance to the US now. As mentioned there, third parties will be making the running at first nudging the Ukrainian government toward a settlement. Hopefully sooner rather than later as the death toll can be kept down.

Zelensky has to fall for that I'd imagine. He's already responsible for going along with NATO (remember them? I haven't heard much from them lately) and Washington and helped slaughter 200,000 Ukrainians. And when the dust settles he'll need to get out of Ukraine altogether as his corruption catches up with him and his wife.

It's very realistic.

Ukraine are on their way to a defeat and the internal blood letting will be horrendous.

Zelensky has already failed in his task. The attempt to expel the Russians has failed 100%. His corruption will catch up with him soon enough.

Its over for Ukraine. They've been led on a fools errand for the west and sacrificed 200,000 people in the process.

Russia are immovable form the land they've captured. I wished it weren't so but it is.

The question is whether we want more death and destruction or an end to it.

Armchair generals behind their PCs might want that but I'd bet that there people on the sharp end of this conflict want peace.

Please don’t say surrender at first opportunity or your argument is dead to me . If they’d surrendered, Ukraine would no longer exist and nor would Moldova followed by other former soviet states.
So yes, please remind me of their alternative

I wish that were true. But it's really just a matter of time before Ukraine are forced into a less than ideal peace.

The international 'community'; are drawing down incrementally from this conflict. I don't think there's any shadow of doubt about that now.

They missed their chance before the war began. Their paramilitaries were shelling eastern Ukraine where pro-Russian populations lived and they wouldn't stop...probably at the instigation of Washington and NATO.

The invasion should never have happened.

The idea as ever when American and 'western support' is fundamental, isn't humanitarian or based on principals, it's always economic. Either for resources at one end or to cost Russian a fortune to destabilise them as per Afghanistan and the Mujahadin.
