There is indeed a big Russian push underway near the town of Avdiivika. (West of Donetsk). Upto 3 Ru battalions with Arty and air support involved.
The first assaults focused on attempts to flank the Uke positions near the town of Vodayne however that ended in total failure and massive casualties for Vlads boys
In the process a Ru SU-25 was destroyed by Uke air defences
The Russians do appear to have had success north of Avdiivka near the town of Novoprokopivka. Catching the Uke defenders by surprise and capturing a number of positions

The takeaway point from that though is that at a time when the Ukrainians are supposed to be counter attacking and pushing on southward they are being pushed back themselves and faced with being over-run in the east of Ukraine.
If you were funding the Ukrainians you'd be wondering WTF is going on.

I find it hard to laugh at this news mate.. Its sickening to know that many many young and old men from both sides are dying horrific needless deaths.

Exactly. The deaths only further compound the wickedness of a war between 2 countries that previously had an open border and freedom to move between both easily with both sides of the border living in harmony.
Well it appears that this particular area, your lads are having a push themselves. I cannot imagine every part of a counter attack will be 100% successful
Ukraine military has to halt the Russian counter offensives around Kupyansk and Avdivka but it doesnt have the weaponry or the soldiers. They'll have to pull them from other areas which will leave them exposed as the Russian and Donbass militias are very active along the whole front.
The Ukraine military should have built defensive lines like the Russians did but they didn't which has caused a bit of a stir.
The US Empire has sent to Ukraine over 50% of its stored weaponry in occupied Palestine. They will be reluctant to send the Ukraine military additional weapons as they will need it to replenshish their stocks for the IDF.
Republican politicians are reluctant to couple aid for Ukraine and Israel, they'll opt for the IDF any day of the week. Abandoning Ukraine is high on their agenda.
A very grim prospect in in the offing for the Ukraine military's ability to continue waging the US Empire's proxy war to damage Russia, which it has failed to do and trade war schemes against Germany to damage it economically which it has succeeded in doing.
The only way those in power in Ukraine can hope to have a viable state, is to tell the US it no longer wants to dance to its tune and offer peace talks with Russia. That way they will not be fighting to the last Ukraine.

The terrorist attacks in Israel may have an effect for sure, but I don't think Israel will need to request too many weapons from the US or its "emipre".
It was a nice try from Putin to try and split the US "empire" support, and shows how desparate he has become, but I don't think it will slow down the support to Ukraine the way he hoped

From reading snippets from Russian telegram they launched a large offensive in terms of weaponry and infantry with some initial success.
Through poor communication and command they've only advanced about 800m in about 5 or 6 days, indeed there's footage of friendly fire incidents from confused and disorganised soldiers.
The territory around Adveeka isnt great for a western advance with Ukrainian positions on high ground. It seems like the advance has been costly in both man power and equipment- as Ukraines was initially.
I dont even understand what you are talking about with regards to 50% of American weaponry being in Palestine.
In other news, UK has sent more air defense systems to Ukraine to help counter drones.
Belgium is sending F16s in March 2024.

Ukraine needs air cover now, not in 2024. In fact, a Ukraine counter offensive without air cover and mass artillery was always a dangerous non starter.
The UK are sending an air defence system that has not been tested in a combat zone and will have teething problems, as does all defence systems, which constantly need tweeking due missile developments. In this case Russia's.
Right from the start of Russia's open intervention into the Ukraine civil war, we have been fed the bull that the Russian army is garbage and couldn't punch its way out of a paper bag. It has poor soldiers, badly trained, not motivated, losing more soldiers that Ukraine, has poor communications and crap command and the Ukraine's are winning. In the course of a war those leading the military, at the top and further down, will always come under scrutiny and those not up to the task will be sidelined. As appears like that fate has befallen on General -Kiev will fall in 3 days - Milley.
The Ukraine is winning bull is being played out on the battlefield. They said they'd never lose Mariupol, but they did. They said the same about Bahkmut but lost tha city.
We were told the Ukrainians are getting 'game changer after game changer' but they weren't game changers at all. They were all supposed to lead to the recapture of Bahkmut, Mariupol and marching into Crimea. Fanciful day dreaming with awful consequences for Ukraine soldiers. Proposing peace talks is the only way Ukraine can hope to survive as a viable state. The US Empire will drop Ukraine like a ton of bricks, the longer there is resistance to colonial rule in Palestine.
This sprawling defeats for the US Empire in Iraq, Aghanistan, Syria and Ukraine is giving inspiration to the anti colonial, anti imperialist movement in many, many places including in the Middle East. As did the debacle and defeat of the US in Vietnam in the 1970s.
