In fairness if you look at the Bish's posting history which i did last month after he/she/it came to my attention, it is largely just chipping in to insult people after taking offense (hence my careful use of pronouns) without actually sharing any useful insight of his/her/its own.

I agree with the last bit, but fixing that requires the Russian government to charge their ways as much as anything.

Even ideologically similar regimes (like Poland, and Fico if he steps out of line) are turned off by being treated as something less than real all the time. Armenia is another example.

Probably Fico's party will be the largest party but they'll have to do a deal with Pellegrini's SMER - and possibly others - which will make for a bit of a fudge on the Ukraine War.

Michal Šimečka is the obvious EU stooge there.

But you're right, people in the West don't realise the bonds that ordinary slavs have toward each other and won't understand it if or when they vote for people that appear to be 'pro-Putin'. They're not, they're just anti-Western.

Interesting read from the NY Times on the accessibility to commercial drones and drone components as China scales back their provision of them to Ukraine and the Ukrainians look to off set this by adaptation and maybe setting up their own tech companies to provide them.
