There's a surfeit of pro-Ukrainian articles in the MSM. Bringing articles to read that look to offer an overview - often from the MSM btw - is required more.

The reason I posted that was to point out the blithe way that these people talk about "long term" and "years to come"...divorced from the catastrophic level of human losses.

Given the fact he said it after watching a minute earlier another Newsnight report that underlined the loss of human life it was off the charts crass.

These people don't give a flying one about the Ukrainians. They are a stage army to be pushed here and there and to take the hit off Russia on their behalf because they want to observe what goes on in a laboratory of war.

“We don’t know how big the territory of this country is, as the war is still ongoing, we don’t know how big its population is as they are fleeing. To admit a country to the EU without knowing its parameters, this would be unprecedented.”

“So I think we need to answer very long and difficult questions until we get to actually deciding about the start of accession talks,” he said.

Orbán told parliament on Monday that Hungary would not support Ukraine on any issue in international affairs until the language rights of ethnic Hungarians there were restored. A Nato member, Hungary is also one of two countries still blocking Sweden joining the alliance.

@Kev The Rat looks like Orban's Hungary are being used as a prop by the likes of France and other big agricultural nations to take the stick for sidelining Ukraine's push to join the EU.
