That horrendous sell out German Green Party minister, Baerbock, now in Kyiv promising EU membership for Ukraine...or rather "accession talks".

Stuff like this look to me like part of a retreat from military support (or the promise of it) and the start of reconstruction as the counter-offensive fails and this war is set to be wound up for the late autumn and winter. That'll be the 4/5 month window of opportunity when diplomacy will kick in IMO. I reckon the US political cycle will be uppermost in mind now for Biden and he'll want this to be a non-issue when he has to face Trump next November.

It's hard to see what Ukraine do if they're all but abandoned.

In the end they're stooges of the west. The Ukrainian government were put there by the CIA and if U.S. priorities change their chances of survival are limited.

Even if western support completely stops, there won’t be stability in the region.

If Russia’s allowed control over Ukraine, they will 100% commit (more) genocide and nobheads like Kev will turn a blind eye to it.

I was thinking more along the lines of non-OPEC countries. The US for example has benefited from increasing exports of LPG.

The real trick would be to reduce the requirements for oil and gas at the same time to completely goose OPEC and Russia (and former Soviet Union countries) ability to manipulate prices (and help the climate of course).

If Russia want victory then they should concentrate on attacking military instead of civilians, theaters, schools, hospitals and grain storage facilities. How anyone can support this Russian land grab is beyond me.

That Russia has gone from being one of North Korea's main suppliers of weapons to having to ask them for weapons shows how badly and ill-thought-out Vlad's fantasy is.

Russia is exhausting its military resources beyond its long-term ability to demonstrate that a decisive victory over Ukrainian is possible. As Russia’s military capabilities continue to strain under the weight of a drawn-out war, the idea that such exhaustive efforts can yield a positive conclusion for its plans becomes increasingly untenable.

Vlad's only hope is that the West and NATO withdraw their support and leave Ukraine to face his aggression alone in the hope that they can exhaust Ukraine's military capabilities. The reality of Putin's goals such as that shown in the footage yesterday of the Russian General stating that Eastern European countries are next after Ukraine will ensure that even if NATO did decide to withdraw support it would become much more likely that the Baltic states, Poland etc will continue to support, possibly becoming directly involved.

It is a horrific situation that Putin has created but it will only truly end if Russia withdraws completely or is defeated.

More propaganda. What is actually happening is that N Korea is being wooed and kept onside with some trade deals, which happen to involve helping them out by taking some of their weapons. Same story with Iranian drones. All part of the Russia setting up alternatives to the western cabal.
