The Ukraine missile that shot it down might have knocked out just the tail, so when it hit the ground it still impacts like it would have, just not the intended target.

Well, presumably, it could be a missile knocked out of the sky by Ukraine, I suppose. Not excusing Russia in this, as any sensible country wouldn't be aiming strikes close neutral borders, in any case.

Sad I know, but I’ve been expecting this to happen, I referenced it some months ago. If Russia has fired this and killed Polish citizens, it’s a green light now for NATO to obliterate these scumbags. Let’s get it done, or this is going to drag on for years.

Only partly the issue, even if this does sound cold hearted. A deliberate attack on Poland or a stray missile is very different to one shot at and therefore flying off course.
