There has to be a way.

Perhaps the compromise shouldn't be anything with Ukraine, but maybe the sanctions (some of them) placed on Russia could be used as a bargaining chip?

I don't know, but just saying 'yeah let's send £100,000s more weapons there' is only extending the conflict too.
It is one of the main reasons that Ukraine has not been overun and totally crushed by Russia.

As the Ukrainian people are regularly saying.

Russia stops fighting the war ends.

Ukraine stops fighting, Ukraine ends.

Weapons supplies are one thing, but there really should be a look at whether the current sanctions regime is effective or will ever be effective at whatever they are expecting it to do.

Well possibly. I just don't think it's as impossible as people are saying for the Western nations to do more to get Russia to the table.

Genuine question. What do you think they are currently doing to get Russia to the table?

Remember that more than 99% of diplomacy happens behind closed doors and only gets leaked to the press when it is in someones interest to leak it to the press.

So what are some these things the west is not already doing? You keep saying "do more", so what are we missing?

Russian diplomacy

Looks the mad Russian priest who was pointing his finger at women has died in Ukraine.

God was obviously not a fan of his…..

Really nice podcast series about Shaktar Donetsk just launched on spotify (and I presume elsewhere) from The Athletic. It's called Away From Home and follows their champions league group stage campaign.

Maybe so, maybe they are doing all of these things.

However, surely they'd make some of that knowledge public? All I'm seeing is more posts/news about supplying more weaponary.

I just think there's two sides to every story and while Putin needs stopping, the West's part in this shouldn't be downplayed, think they could have done more to stop it sooner and subsequently in the eight months sit it started. But if it makes people feel better then sound, I cba in this thread.
